Congratulations to our Hornets who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on Tuesday Night! Twenty students from our Career and Technical Education (CATE) programs were honored. Mrs. Gorthy, Mrs. Franklin and Mr. Redd were all proud to see their students included in this group. Way to go, Hornets!

This month's Freestyle Friday will actually be on a Tuesday, due to all the events going on the week before Winter Break. If you're interested in performing, please get a form from Ms. Wright's room, room D110. Forms need to be turned in by Tuesday, December 17th, 8:15AM.
AHS Sports Media Team is in need of 1-2 videographers who can video the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity Home Basketball Games, beginning next week. Please see Mrs. Weimer in room C151 or email her at mweimer@acpsd.net.
This week at lunch the track team will be collecting money in jars to duct tape a teacher, counselor, principal, or hall monitor to the wall. The person whose jar has the most money in it will be duct taped to the wall during lunch on 12/17. All of the money raised supports the AHS track team.

ALUMNI- The Hornet Yearbook is giving you another shot to be featured in an AHS Yearbook! Please submit your favorite photos from your days in green & gold to be included in a new feature in the 75th edition of The Hornet. Deadline to submit is January 1st.

Entry Fee: $10.00 per door
Proceeds will support Educators Rising Students as they prepare for the National Conference.
See Mrs. Franklin before 1:00 PM or email her to stop by your room during 3rd block. Last day to pay is Wednesday, Dec. 18th. Judging will be during 1st block on Dec. 19th and winners will be announce on Dec. 20th. 1st place winner will receive a prize basket.
The Art Department will be holding it's Winter Art Festival on December 12th at 5pm to celebrate Aiken High's many talented Visual Artists. It will be held in the AHS Auditorium foyer and Hornet Gallery. Hundreds of artwork will be on display and many interactive booths where you can watch, learn about and create your own art. Free for everyone- Don't miss out!
