
Congratulations to our Golden Hornet award winners, Mr. Kevin Goldsmith and Mr. Dillon Pietsch! Mr. Goldsmith is our Instructional/Academic Success Coach who works with both our students and teachers to make sure they have the resources and skills they need to be successful. Mr. Goldsmith has taken many of our students under his wing and has been a great help to all of our staff. Mr. Pietsch is our Custodian who makes sure our building stays spotless. He is always happy to help and does everything with a smile!

Attention 10th grade students! Are you interested in developing your leadership skills and making a difference in your community? If so, consider joining the Aiken County Junior Leadership team! Junior Leadership Aiken County (JLAC) is a program designed specifically for 10th graders like you, aimed at identifying, developing, and motivating future leaders. Through a competitive selection process, participants engage in team-building activities and learn about local issues while connecting with community leaders. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how Aiken County operates from business, government, and social perspectives, and have the chance to directly participate in service projects. All Aiken County Public School District schools, buildings, and offices will be closed for Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024. We hope that everyone has an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend and look forward to seeing students back at school on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Meet AHS's Resource Officer, Officer Sharkey!
My name is Officer Sharkey and I am the SRO at Aiken High School. I spent some time in the Army before getting into law enforcement. I enjoy playing soccer and eating tacos. I started at Aiken High last school year, but recently received this assignment as a permanent position. My passion is working with juveniles, and I love that I get to help our students on a daily basis. My favorite quote is “Be the change you want to see” and I hope to inspire others to live that daily. I look forward to supporting our students and Go Hornets!

HOMECOMING 2024 - Students, your homerooms will nominate candidates from your grade level for Homecoming Royalty on September 4th. Voting for HoCo Royalty will take place on September 18th. If you are nominated, you will be notified by email by September 5th.

Voter Registration will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, September 11th and 12th in the Media Center during Homeroom and all lunches. If you will be 18 by November 5th, 2024 you are eligible to register. You must have your Driver's License and Social Security number with you. There will also be free pizza for those who register!

SENIORS AND GRADUATING JUNIORS - There will be a Jostens Senior Premier on August 28th in the auditorium at 9:45am. ALL graduating Juniors and Seniors must attend.


TICKETS ARE LIVE ON GOFAN- Alumni & current students of alumni are welcome to join us for a Legacy Luncheon to honor the traditions of Aiken High School. Tickets include a catered lunch provided by Dukes BBQ, a special presentation & all 74 previous yearbooks to view.


ATHLETIC SECURITY REMINDERS & CLEAR BAG PROCEDURES - To ensure the safety of our athletic events, please be aware of the following:
• ACPSD has a Clear Bag Procedure for athletic events. Please see details at https://www.acpsd.net/page/athletics-security.
• Reentry is not allowed. Should an individual exit a stadium or athletic facility, a new ticket for reentry will be required for reentry.
• These are school-sponsored events; behavioral expectations & the Code of Conduct apply.
• Students in eighth grade and below must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older.
• High school students must show identification or PowerSchool to verify grade level if unaccompanied by a supervising adult.
