Please review the attached information regarding the first round of virtual summer courses offered through ACVA (Aiken County Virtual Academy).
These courses will begin at the end of this month. Students enrolled will be required to complete their exams at AHS prior to the start of the 2027–2028 school year. Please note that space is limited and enrollment is first-come, first-served across the district.
To register, students must meet with their counselor and obtain a signed registration form.
If this is your first time taking a virtual course, it is essential that you also create a VirtualSC account (instructions are included on the registration form).
A second round of virtual summer courses will not be available until the end of the school year. If you are interested in taking a course this summer, we strongly encourage you to register now if ACVA offers the course you need.
Students should also be mindful of promotion requirements. If you believe you may be short on credits, please speak with your counselor about whether a virtual course could help you meet those requirements. Please note students are limited to two virtual courses per semester.
Promotion Requirements to be a:
Senior: 18 total credits required, including 3 English, 3 Math, and 2 Science
Junior: 12 total credits required, including 2 English, 2 Math, and 1 Science
Sophomore: 6 total credits required, including 1 English and 1 Math
(Math must be Geometry or Algebra 1; Math Assistance/SREB Math do not count)

Senior Sunset will take place on this Friday, May 15th at 7:30PM on the Football Field. Bring your blankets, chairs, snacks and friends! Come together and watch the sunset on your senior year!

The Yearbooks are coming! Yearbook Distribution Day will be May 13th. Students will get one hour per grade level during their allotted block to pick up yearbooks, sign yearbooks, and connect with each other. The schedule is:
1st Block - Seniors (8:30am-9:30am)
2nd Block - Juniors (10:10am-11:10am)
3rd Block - Sophomores (11:45am-12:45pm then all sophomores attend 3rd lunch)
4th Block - Freshmen (2:00pm-3:00pm)
3:00-3:30 - anyone who did not get a yearbook (career center, late arrival, etc.)
You must have your driver's license or student ID to pick up your yearbook. Any Late Arrival, Early Dismissal or Career Center students with conflicts need to email Ms. Long at rbrock2@acpsd.net. There are a few copies remaining for sale! Scan the QR code for details.

C112 for one. A $25 fee will be assessed. If you are done with testing and want to turn in a laptop before May 20th, please bring it to Rm. C112 or to the Media Center.
When turning in your laptop:
Remove usb dongles.
Remove all marker/pencil markings ($10 fee is applicable)
Remove all stickers, personal pictures ($10 fee is applicable for stickers left on laptop)
Clean screen with a microfiber cloth
Wipe any dirt off keyboards with a damp cloth
Bring power adapters ($25 fee if student doesn't have it)
No charge for covers as wear and tear is inevitable from taking in and out of bookbags.

Summer’s almost here! Make sure you turn back in your library books! All library books are due back by May 12th. Seniors - if books are not returned, you will need to replace them, so start looking for those books now!

Testing season is here! Remember that unauthorized devices like phones, watches, smart glasses, etc. can invalidate your test and lead to legal action. Don't ruin a year's worth of hard work with a simple mistake!
To get the best score, get a good night's rest, eat a healthy breakfast, come prepared and try your best!

Last PTSO Meeting of the school year is Tuesday, May 12th at 5:30 in the Media Center. New officers will be elected. Hope to see you there.
Class of 2026! Senior Walks are starting! Revisit your elementary school and show them how far you've come! Wear your Cap and Gown. You will need to provide your own transportation to all the schools except North Aiken. North Aiken Elementary provides a bus from AHS and back for North Aiken former students. (Carowinds Permission Slips and Money are also due on May 8th.)
