Student Government is hosting their annual Teacher vs Student Basketball Tournament on Friday, February 6. The game will be at the beginning of 4th block and the Winter Pep Rally will follow. Tickets are $5. If you are interested in playing, we need at least 6 to 10 players for teachers and students. Any grade level is welcome! Pick up permission forms from Mrs. Robinson in Room 121. All permission forms are due by Friday, January 30.

SBHS Prom Night is April 25, 2026 at the Big Red Barn from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Tickets are available now through GoFan. In order to qualify to purchase tickets, the SBHS student must be in 11th or 12th grade and have no outstanding fees. If your guest DOES NOT currently attend SBHS, you must pick up a guest permission form from Mrs. Mack in Room 155C. Tickets are currently $50 each until March 31st. With the possibility of a Winter Storm on everyone’s radar, please know that we are in close collaboration with local Emergency Management Officials in monitoring for impact to our area.

Confidence in the weekend storm’s possible impact to Aiken County has decreased. However, in an abundance of caution, our District and school’s weekend activities scheduled to extend beyond noon this Saturday, January 24, will be rescheduled.

This includes numerous activities, such as Saturday’s acGATEWAY auditions, as well as the MLK Jr. Community Event previously scheduled for Sunday. Individual schools and programs will share details on these and other cancellations along with rescheduled dates and times.

Our emergency management team will continue to work closely with local officials in monitoring the storm over the coming days. As we prepare for the possibility of e-learning on Monday, students will be sent home from school tomorrow with their laptop and remote assignments.

A decision regarding the safety of operations for next week will be made as soon as possible. We recognize that school closure decisions have a tremendous impact on our community, especially parents and guardians. Please know that the safety of our students, families, teachers and staff is always our highest priority, and that every effort will be made to utilize our five designated e-learning days carefully so as to not extend the school year to meet mandated requirements. An update regarding operations for Monday, January 26, will be shared no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 25.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st, is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. If a student has late arrival or early dismissal, they are still expected to attend classes according to the modified bell schedule. AM Career Center students will report to the Career Center. PM Career Center students will not go to the Career Center and will report to the media center if they are on campus.

As part of our ongoing STARS celebration, we are excited to recognize our First-Year Teacher of the Year Honor Court. These educators were surprised by our District Leadership, with some family members joining in to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

Just a reminder that we will have Second Semester Open House tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13 beginning at 6:00 PM. Bells will be ringing to signal class change.

All students need to bring their charged laptops to school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13th for a laptop check during 2nd Block.

Silver Bluff's Job Shadowing Day is January 30, 2026. Please pick up Job Shadowing Forms in the wall pocket by the front hallway entrance to the media center. Permission forms must be completed and turned in to Mrs. Crapse by January 27th.

ACCESS testing for students who are English Language Learners will be administered starting January 21 and will be completed by February 27, 2026.

Seniors! Please pay your $25 Senior Activity Fee by January 30th so that we can start planning spring events! This fee is for Seniors who plan to participate in Senior Breakfast, Senior Field Day, and any other celebratory events. You can pay through e-funds, call the school and pay with a card, or send cash or check with a student. Please see Dr. Hayes or Mrs. Bouknight to pay via cash or check.

Student Government will be selling Chick-Fil-A biscuits on Thursday morning, December 18th. Biscuits will be $5.00 and will be sold by the auditorium entrance. Biscuits are first come, first served!
