AIKEN, SC (WJBF)- We're celebrating scholar athlete Resa Slack from Aiken High School.
Resa gets it done in the classroom and on the pitch for the Aiken Hornets. Not only that, but she’s also a 3-time all-region standout for the hornets’ cross-country squad. As an attacking mid, her 21 goals on the field last year made her far and away the soccer team’s scoring leader, while also helping the team to a state tournament berth.
She sports a 5.1 GPA with a plethora of other scholastic and athletic honors. Resa is a known leader in her school community and it’s something she doesn’t shy away from.
“I like to be a leader and example in my school. I also lead FCA which is Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and so my faith is definitely a big part of being a leader in my school, but also being a leader on my soccer team, my cross-country team. I definitely like to take that role,” Slack said.
