Fall Registration for Aiken County's Virtual Academy opens July 30th through August 14th. Courses will begin August 18th and run through December 4th. ACVA Courses provide high school students with the chance to take a few courses online while attending regular school in person. Students enroll in ACVA for various reasons, such as increasing schedule flexibility, getting ahead on their courses, or making up for missed credits. If you are interested, schedule a meeting with your counselor now.
Those interested in Virtual School courses, registration will open August 13th for 11th and 12th graders and August 20th for 9th and 10th graders. All students interested in taking a virtual class MUST meet with their school counselor before approval for a virtual course is given.

On July 29th and 30th, our 9th grade students will take part in a district wide initiative called YouScience. YouScience contains an innovative aptitude and career discovery assessment that connects students with education and career paths in order to help them find success in both school and life. YouScience will take about 90 minutes for students to complete. The assessments cannot be retaken or reset, so students should take the YouScience brain games seriously. We want all of our scholars focused and ready. Let's go Bulldogs!

Paint your Senior Parking Spot! Come to SBHS Wednesday, July 16th from 1:00-3:00 and see Ms. Matlock to pick out your parking spot for the year. This is the spot you will paint and park at ALL year.
You will also need all paper work for your parking pass, a sketch or picture of what you are painting, driver's license, insurance name, tag number, and your payment. You must have your parking pass before you start painting.
Parking passes are $25 and to paint is an extra $10.
Rules for painting parking spots:
- The painting MUST be school appropriate.
- The artwork MUST be 5-7 inches from the white lines on the parking spot.
- The artwork MUST not touch the number on your parking spot.
- Painting is ONLY on Saturdays from 10:00-12:00.

Parents and Guardians now is the time to schedule a well-visit or vaccine appointment with your child’s healthcare provider to avoid the back-to-school rush before the 2025-26 school year begins on July 21! The SC Department of Public Health is also offering a vaccine clinic for students in grades 5K–12 on July 8 from 9–11:30 a.m. and 1–3:30 p.m. at the Aiken County Health Department (222 Beaufort Street NE, Aiken). Call (803) 642-7543 to make an appointment and bring vaccination and insurance records; a parent or guardian must accompany children under 16. No-cost vaccines may be available, though administration fees may apply. Don’t forget to submit your child’s updated SC Immunization Certificate to their school and note that all rising 7th graders must have a Tdap booster given at age 10 or older. Salutatorian: Allison Grace Peters
Allison Grace Peters, Salutatorian of the Silver Bluff High School Class of 2025, plans to attend the University of South Carolina Aiken, where she will major in Nursing and pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.
Her favorite high school memory is her three years with the Silver Spirit Marching Band. Serving as woodwind captain, Allison developed leadership skills and formed lasting friendships. She credits marching band with deepening her love and passion for music—something she holds close to her heart. From late-night football games to weekend competitions and all-day practices, she says the Silver Spirit is something she will carry with her forever.

Valedictorian: Susan Li
Susan Li, Valedictorian of the Silver Bluff High School Class of 2025, is a QuestBridge Scholar who has earned a full-ride scholarship to Duke University.
At Duke, Susan plans to double major in Computer Science and Statistics, fields that reflect both her analytical strengths and creative problem-solving abilities.
One of her favorite high school memories comes from Mrs. Mack’s AP Statistics class. During one unforgettable lesson, the class went to the stadium for a hands-on activity using Barbie dolls, where students tested how close their dolls could fall to the ground using rubber band “bungee cords” without actually touching it. “Best class ever!” Susan said.
