These conversations may begin at our All Pro Dad meeting, but their impact can continue at home, at school, and throughout our children’s lives. 💙

Come enjoy meaningful time with your child, connect with other dads and father figures, and help us encourage our Dolphins to grow into confident, responsible, and trustworthy leaders.

🐬💙💛 BUDDY CLASSES — LEARNING TOGETHER! 💛💙🐬 Today, Miss Rutland’s first graders and Dr. McClure’s fourth graders had a wonderful time learning together during Buddy Clubs! 👀 Our fourth graders stepped into the role of teachers as they taught their first-grade buddies all about the sense of sight! They prepared and shared a presentation, explained what they had learned, and practiced communicating their ideas to a younger audience. But the learning went both ways! 🌟 After the presentation, our first graders provided feedback to their fourth-grade buddies, giving our older Dolphins an opportunity to listen, reflect, and grow. Experiences like this are what Buddy Classes are all about—building relationships across grade levels while developing leadership, communication, confidence, and collaboration. We loved seeing our Dolphins learning with and from one another! 🐬❤️ #NAUES #BuddyClasses #DolphinLeaders #LearningTogether #StudentLeadership #Collaboration

🐬💙💛 IT WAS CLUB DAY AT NAUES! 💛💙🐬

Today was all about connecting, exploring, and having fun together as our Dolphins participated in Buddy Clubs and Club Activities!

🤝 Buddy Clubs brought classes from different grade levels together to build relationships, strengthen our school community, and give students opportunities to connect with Dolphins they may not normally see during their school day. These special gatherings help our students practice leadership, teamwork, communication, and kindness while building friendships across grade levels.

🌟 Then it was time for Club Activities! Students had the opportunity to participate in a club based on an activity or interest they selected. Club time gives our Dolphins a chance to explore interests, try something new, be creative, develop new skills, and connect with students and staff who share similar interests.

From building relationships with our Buddy Clubs to discovering new interests during Club Activities, it was a wonderful day of learning and connection beyond the classroom!

📸 Here are just a few pictures from today’s Club Day fun!

We love creating opportunities for our Dolphins to belong, lead, explore, and grow! 🐬💙💛

🩺➗🍫 **CALLING ALL DISTRIBUTIVE DOCTORS!** 🍫➗🩺

Ms. McGurk’s third-grade mathematicians traded their pencils for stethoscopes as they put their math skills to the test during **“Distributive Doctors!”** 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Our students spent the day as “doctors,” carefully examining their **math problem patients** and using their knowledge of the **distributive property** to make a diagnosis! 🏥📋

The distributive property helps students take a larger multiplication problem and **break it apart into smaller, easier-to-solve parts**. During their “surgery,” students used hands-on materials—including **chocolate chips and Play-Doh**—to build models, break apart their problems, and demonstrate their mathematical thinking. 🍫🧮

But these doctors couldn’t simply give an answer! They had to **show their work, explain their reasoning, and prove that their treatment plan worked.** Through this creative activity, students practiced multiplication while strengthening their problem-solving, critical-thinking, and reasoning skills.

We love seeing learning come to life in ways that get our Dolphins excited to think, explore, and solve! 💙💛🐬

Way to go, **Dr. McGurk and her team of Distributive Doctors!** 🩺📚✨

🔵🟡🔴 **MAKE YOUR MARK! INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY AT NAUES!** 🔴🟡🔵

Today, North Augusta Elementary celebrated **International Dot Day**—a day all about **creativity, courage, self-expression, and making your mark!** 🐬✨

Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ beloved story *The Dot*, our Dolphins were reminded that sometimes all it takes is one small beginning—a single dot—to discover where your creativity and imagination can take you!

🔵 As part of our **schoolwide celebration**, each homeroom received dots for students to place **somewhere—anywhere—throughout our building!** We love the message behind this simple activity: **Leave your mark and see where it takes you!** As the day went on, colorful dots began appearing throughout NAUES, each one representing one of our amazing Dolphins. 💙💛

Our teachers also brought Dot Day into their classrooms in so many fun and creative ways! Students enjoyed:

📚 Reading and discussing *The Dot*
🎩 Creating colorful Dot Day hats
➗ Assembling math-inspired dots
👟 Designing their own tennis shoe creations
🎨 Completing creative “dot” art and design challenges
✨ Exploring even more activities that encouraged imagination, problem-solving, and self-expression!

And the dots weren’t just in our lessons—**our students and staff got into the spirit, too!** Many came decked out in polka dots and colorful patterns to help us celebrate. 🔴🟢🔵🟣🟡

International Dot Day is such a wonderful reminder for our Dolphins that **everyone has something unique to contribute.** Be brave enough to begin, be creative enough to try, and never be afraid to **make your mark!** 🐬💙💛

🎨🎶✍️ Celebrating National Arts in Education Week! ✍️🎶🎨

This week, September 13–19, we celebrate National Arts in Education Week and the important role the arts play in helping students create, communicate, imagine, and express themselves! 💙💛

At North Augusta Elementary, our Dolphins have wonderful opportunities to explore their creativity in many different ways. We are especially thankful for:

🎨 Mrs. Todd – Art, who encourages our students to explore their creativity and express their ideas through visual art.

🎶 Mr. Palmer – Music, who helps our Dolphins discover the joy of music through singing, instruments, rhythm, movement, and performance.

✍️ Mrs. Aiken – Writing, who helps our students discover the power of words as they develop their voices, share their ideas, and use creativity through writing and storytelling.

The arts provide so much more than an opportunity to create—they help students build confidence, communication skills, imagination, perseverance, and new ways of thinking about the world around them. 🌟

This week, we celebrate our talented students and the wonderful educators who help creativity come alive at NAUE every day! 🐬💙💛

📚🔎 Fourth Grade Text Feature Detectives! 🔎📚

Students from 4C and 4D have been busy learning with Dr. McClure during reading! Our fourth-grade readers are strengthening their nonfiction reading skills as they study text features and practice locating important details within a text.

Students are learning how headings, captions, photographs, diagrams, bold print, and other text features can help them locate information, identify key details, and better understand what they read. 📖💡

These important skills are helping our Dolphins become stronger, more purposeful readers who know where to look and how to find evidence to support their understanding. 🐬💙💛

Great work, 4C and 4D! Keep reading, investigating, and discovering! 🔎📚
