This week our Dragons are attempting to break a world record! Last year, 752,632 cup stackers around the world (including Greendale students) spent at least 30 minutes stacking to set a new record. In PE, we are working to break that world record again. We learned some cup stacking techniques last week and are putting those into practice with a variety of stations for our world record attempt. At the end of the week, Coach Browder will submit the number of students in 5K through 5th grade that successfully complete 30 minutes of stacking.

PURPLE UP FOR MILITARY FAMILIES | FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14

ACPSD encourages all students, staff, and families to wear PURPLE on Friday, November 14 as we celebrate the Month of the Military Family!

This special day is our way of showing appreciation and support for the incredible military families who sacrifice and serve alongside their loved ones.

THANK YOU to our military families for your dedication, resilience, and service to our nation.

Join us in honoring our heroes—both at home and abroad—by wearing purple with pride!

Throughout November, schools across the district are recognizing Veterans Day and the Month of the Military Family with special celebrations and activities to honor the veterans and active-duty heroes in our community and across the country.

Let’s turn our schools PURPLE Friday, November 14!

Congratulations to our Read with the Gamecocks winners!! They really worked hard. There was a winner for each grade and an overall school winner. Highest Reader By Grade Level: 5k- West Rosario-367 minutes 1st - Carter Richardson - 451 minutes 2nd - Ansley Riley - 414 minutes 3rd - Jay'Ceon Smith - 113 minutes 4th - Jazlyn Green- 180 minutes 5th - Adelyn Sanders - 670 minutes Highest Reader for School: Adelyn Sanders - 670 minutes Read with the Gamecocks is an incentive-based reading program developed by South Carolina Athletics to promote the importance of literacy in elementary and middle school-aged students. Through Read with the Gamecocks, we encourage elementary and middle school teachers to challenge their students to keep a log of all reading done outside of the classroom over a two-week period. In an effort to have this program better fit classroom goals and curriculum, teachers will set their own goals for their classrooms (ex: number of pages, number of books, number of minutes read). Every student that reaches their classroom goal will receive a voucher for two tickets (one student, one guardian) to one Gamecock men’s basketball game and one Gamecock women’s basketball game. Teachers that participate in the program will also receive a voucher for two tickets to both basketball games.

Don't forget!! Our Book Fair begins Monday, during parent/teacher conferences and continues through Friday. The best and most reliable way to purchase items for your child is to set up an e-wallet by clicking this link: https://education.scholastic.com/content/fairs/ewallet.html Setting up an e-wallet ensures that your student won't misplace their money and helps us keep track of who needs to shop. If you need help, please reach out to your child's teacher or our librarian, Mrs. Summerford.
