🎄✨ Elf Alert at NAUES! ✨🎄
On Thursday, December 11, reports began swirling that a group of fun-loving elves had made a surprise visit to Mr. Badillo’s office to make sure he was fully committed to the Christmas spirit!
And oh my goodness—did they deliver! Nothing was safe from their festive mission. Desks, supplies, and even the drinks in the refrigerator were wrapped with care and Christmas cheer! 🎁😂
As an added bonus, our kindergarten elves-in-training jumped in to help by coloring pictures of Mr. Badillo as an elf, officially inviting him to join their team and spread holiday joy throughout the school. 🖍️🎅
Mission accomplished! Christmas cheer is officially alive and well at NAUES—thanks to a little elf magic and a lot of smiles! 💛💙🐬

NAUES Hosts a Magical Reindeer Games Night Filled with Art, Activities, and Holiday Cheer
North Augusta, SC — December 11, 2025
North Augusta Elementary School was overflowing with holiday joy and community spirit as students, families, teachers, and staff gathered for a truly unforgettable Reindeer Games Night from 5:00–7:00 p.m. The entire school sparkled with festive decorations, student artwork, and lively activities that welcomed the Holiday Season in the most heartwarming way.
As families entered the building, they were greeted by beautiful holiday art displays created by NAUES students during their Art classes. Under the direction of Art Teacher Mrs. Todd, students spent the past several weeks crafting festive pieces that transformed the halls into a winter wonderland. Mrs. Todd devoted countless hours after school to prepare and install each display, ensuring that every student’s artwork shined just in time for the event. Her hard work brought color, creativity, and holiday spirit to every hallway.
Guests enjoyed strolling through each grade-level pod, where teachers had decorated their hallways and doors in imaginative holiday themes—from sparkling snow scenes to cheerful Christmas characters. Families participated in fun, theme-related activities in every pod and cast votes for their favorite decorations. While results are still being tallied, one thing is certain: the competition was friendly, festive, and fierce!
One of the evening’s highlights took place in the Media Center, where students and parents gathered to play Ho Ho Ho Book Bingo! Laughter and excitement filled the room as participants eagerly marked their cards and celebrated their wins. Thanks to the incredible generosity of NAUES parent Michelle Krakowiak, every participant walked away with a brand-new book to enjoy this holiday season. Michelle designed the bingo cards and donated the majority of the books, helping make the activity a treasured memory for all.
Families also had the opportunity to visit the Santa Shop, where students carefully selected holiday gifts for loved ones with the help of PTO volunteers. With a wide variety of items to choose from, students delighted in the chance to shop independently and spread cheer through gift-giving.
To bring the evening to a festive close, the NAUES Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Steven Palmer, delivered a joyful Holiday Concert that filled the cafeteria with music. Their performance of classic and contemporary holiday songs truly captured the spirit of the season and brought the audience to warm applause.
What a night to remember!
North Augusta Elementary School extends heartfelt appreciation to the teachers, administrators, parents, PTO volunteers, students, and community members who worked tirelessly to make Reindeer Games 2025 such a spectacular success. Events like these reflect the heart of NAUES—where community, creativity, and joyful celebration bring us all together.

🎁 Spreading Christmas Kindness at NAUES 🎁
Today, our Dolphin family was uplifted by a heartfelt act of generosity. Members of Victory Baptist Church—along with a caring NAUES teacher, their family, and friends near and far (even as far as Maryland and Virginia)—came together to bless students in our community with Christmas gifts. 💛✨
This was not part of an organized program, but rather a quiet act of kindness that grew beyond expectations. One conversation sparked a wave of giving, reminding us that compassion doesn’t require recognition—it simply requires heart. 💙🐬
❤️ Thank you to Victory Baptist Church, to those behind the scenes, and to everyone who gave anonymously and joyfully. Your generosity brings light, hope, and holiday magic to our students.
✨ As we celebrate this beautiful spirit of giving, we want to remind families that our Toys for Tots drive is still underway!
📍 Donations of new, unwrapped toys may be dropped off in the front office or library through Thursday, December 18.
Together, let’s continue spreading kindness and joy throughout the holiday season. 🎄💛💙

🏠✨ Gingerbread Fun in the Library! ✨🏠
This week in the NAUES Library, our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade students stepped into the magical world of Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett! 🍪📚
After enjoying this delightful read-aloud, students worked collaboratively in small groups to design and build a cozy home for their paper gingerbread baby. Using a variety of hands-on materials, they engineered walls, roofs, doors, and decorations — all while imagining, problem-solving, and creating together! 🧱🎨
These kinds of creative, hands-on learning experiences help young learners develop teamwork, communication, fine motor skills, and the ability to think like little engineers. The room was filled with curiosity, excitement, and joyful learning — and Gingerbread Babies everywhere were well taken care of! 🐬💛
We love watching our youngest Dolphins learn through play, explore their imagination, and collaborate — it’s what makes the library such a magical place to grow! ✨📚💙

Definition: Joy is a feeling of happiness and contentment that comes from within. It grows through gratitude, kindness, connection, and noticing the good around us.
Why Joy Matters:
Joyful students are more resilient, confident, compassionate, and engaged in learning. Joy helps children build positive relationships and develop a mindset that carries them through challenges.
💛 Helpful Tips for Building Joy in Your Student’s Daily Life
🌟 Practice Daily Gratitude
Encourage your child to name one thing they are thankful for each day. Gratitude helps students focus on what’s good.
🌟 Create Moments of Connection
Read together, share stories, take a walk, or play a quick game. Small moments create big feelings of joy.
🌟 Celebrate Small Wins
Praise effort and progress—not just perfection. Recognizing little successes boosts confidence and joy.
🌟 Model Joyful Behavior
Let students see joy in action—smile, laugh together, share appreciation, and celebrate everyday moments.
🌟 Encourage Kindness
Helping others sparks joy in both the giver and receiver. Invite your child to participate in small acts of kindness.
🌟 Reframe Challenges
Support students in finding solutions and silver linings when things get tough. This builds emotional resilience.
🌟 Slow Down and Notice the Good
Take time to appreciate simple joys: a cozy blanket, colorful artwork, a favorite snack, or a moment of calm.
