📚🇺🇸 Spotlight on Learning in Mrs. Moore’s 5th Grade Class! This week, our creative fifth graders in Mrs. Moore’s class brought history to life — literally — with their World War II Potato People Project! 🥔✨ Students researched key figures from WWII and crafted “potato people” to represent historical leaders, soldiers, and even cultural icons like Rosie the Riveter. Each student presented their project, sharing facts, context, and the lasting impact of their chosen figure. This hands-on activity aligns with the South Carolina Social Studies Standard 5.4, which explores: The impact of World War II on the United States and the world The roles of political and military leaders The contributions of women and minorities to the war effort We are so proud of the creativity, research, and public speaking skills our students demonstrated while deepening their understanding of this important chapter in history! 🇺🇸🪖💪 #NAUESHistory #5thGradeLeaders #WWIIProject #SCStandards #RosieTheRiveter #PotatoPeople #HandsOnLearning #LeaderInMe #NorthAugustaElementary
