The halls of NAUES were filled with joy, music, and celebration today as the NAUES Chorus, along with Mr. Hill, Mr. Palmer, Mr. Badillo, and family, paraded through the school sharing the sounds of lively Spanish music with every pod! Smiles, clapping, and holiday cheer followed them every step of the way as students and staff enjoyed this special moment together.
We were also thrilled to welcome visitors who joined us in celebrating this festive tradition. Now in its second year, this wonderful and cheerful parade of good cheer has become a beloved way to kick off our holiday season—setting a positive, joyful tone and reminding us of the power of music, culture, and community.
What a beautiful way to spread happiness and start the season on such a high note. Once a Dolphin, Always a Dolphin! 💛💙🐬

For the past three weeks, Mrs. Benson’s 5th grade students have been hard at work on a meaningful service-learning and character-building project focused on kindness, empathy, and community connection. Students thoughtfully created letters, handmade cards, crafts, and collected personal items, all with the goal of bringing joy and comfort to others.
Thanks to their dedication and generous hearts, over 40 beautifully decorated boxes were filled and delivered to residents at NHC Nursing Home—each box representing compassion in action and the true spirit of giving.
Adding to the joy, Mrs. DeLattre’s 4th grade students eagerly joined the project by painting Christmas ornaments to include in the boxes. Their creativity and enthusiasm made the gifts even more special and showed the power of collaboration across grade levels.
This project went far beyond crafts and donations. Students practiced:
✨ Writing skills through heartfelt letters
✨ Social-emotional learning by considering the needs and feelings of others
✨ Character development through service, empathy, and generosity
✨ Civic responsibility by strengthening connections within our local community
We are incredibly proud of our students for showing what it means to lead with kindness and make a positive impact. Projects like this not only enrich learning but also strengthen the bonds between our school and community. 💛💙🐬

Our Fourth Grade GT Science class with Mrs. Lewis is hard at work on an exciting Dream House Project that brings learning to life through creativity and real-world application. This interdisciplinary project challenges gifted students to think deeply and work strategically as they design a detailed, functional, and visually compelling house plan or model.
Through this project, students are integrating advanced skills across multiple disciplines, including:
📐 Math: Area, perimeter, volume, and budgeting/financial planning
🎨 Design: Balance, color, and architectural design principles
💻 Technology: Research tools and CAD (computer-aided design)
🧠 Critical Thinking: Complex problem solving, planning, and project management
This hands-on experience allows students to explore authentic concepts such as architecture, finance, and engineering, while strengthening collaboration, creativity, and perseverance. The result is thoughtful, innovative work that showcases both academic rigor and student imagination.
We are so proud of our students for rising to the challenge and for the meaningful learning happening every day in GT Science! 💛💙🐬
