🍦🐬 Hands-On Learning in Action! 💛💙 On Tuesday, March 24th, students in Ms. Ryan’s class had a cool science experience as they explored heat transfer by making ice cream right in the classroom! ❄️ Using ice, rock salt, and plenty of shaking, students worked together to turn half-and-half into a delicious frozen treat. Through this fun experiment, they learned how temperature changes can transform liquids into solids—science you can taste! The best part? The smiles (and maybe a few brain freezes 😄) as they enjoyed their homemade ice cream! #NAUESDolphins #HandsOnLearning #STEMinAction #LearningIsFun 🐬🍦

🎉🐬 What an AMAZING Field Day at NAUES! 💛💙

Today was a truly wonderful day filled with laughter, teamwork, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments for our Dolphin family! From start to finish, the energy and excitement could be felt all across campus—and none of it would have been possible without the incredible support of our community.

👏 A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers!
We are so grateful to our dedicated parents and the many students from North Augusta High School—including NJROTC, Beta Club members, and student-athletes—who gave their time and energy to make today such a success. Your willingness to serve and support our students made a lasting impact!

🏃‍♂️ Shoutout to our incredible organizers!
A very special thank you to Coach Tanner Turner and Mrs. Aiken for their outstanding planning and coordination of today’s events. From the Floor is Lava and Granny Pants to Tug of War, Dizzy Bat Relay, and so many more fun-filled stations, every detail was thoughtfully planned to ensure a day full of joy and engagement for our students.

💧🍧 Thank you to our fabulous PTO!
Your dedication to our school truly means more than words can express. Thank you for sponsoring and running event stations, keeping our students hydrated, and providing special treats throughout the day. We are especially grateful for your help preparing the playground earlier this week—your behind-the-scenes efforts made a big difference!

🍎 To our teachers and students—YOU made the day shine!
Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes brought Field Day to life. It was incredible to see everyone working together, cheering each other on, and having fun!

✨ At NAUES, we truly believe that together we succeed—and today was a perfect example of that spirit in action. What a fantastic day it was! 🐬💙

🎭🐬 North Augusta Elementary Chorus Shines in Annie KIDS Performance 💛💙

The North Augusta Elementary School Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Steven Palmer, took the stage this evening for a truly unforgettable performance of Annie KIDS – A Mini Musical!—and what a spectacular show it was!

From the opening scene to the final bow, our talented Dolphin students captivated the audience with their energy, confidence, and heart. Their hard work and dedication were evident in every song, line, and dance step, bringing this beloved story to life in a meaningful and memorable way.

Annie KIDS tells the inspiring story of a young orphan who never gives up hope, even in the face of challenges. With determination, optimism, and the support of those around her, Annie’s journey reminds us all that brighter days are always ahead. Our students beautifully captured this message, filling the stage with joy, humor, and powerful performances that left the audience smiling from ear to ear.

The cast delivered outstanding individual performances while also working together as an incredible ensemble. Whether portraying orphans, citizens, or members of Warbucks’ household, each student played an important role in making the production a success.

A special thank you goes to Mr. Steven Palmer for his leadership, dedication, and countless hours spent preparing our students for this performance. His passion for music and the arts continues to inspire our Dolphins to shine both on and off the stage.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Rogers, whose work with our students on choreography and acting truly elevated this production. Through her guidance, students grew in confidence, expression, and stage presence. The polished dance routines and expressive performances were a direct reflection of her time, creativity, and commitment to helping each child succeed. Her impact was evident in every scene, helping bring the story to life in such a dynamic and engaging way.

We are also grateful to our staff, families, and school community for their continued support of the arts at North Augusta Elementary. Your encouragement helps make opportunities like this possible for our students.

🐬 North Augusta Elementary Celebrates March Habit Heroes
Honoring Leader in Me Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw 💛💙

North Augusta Elementary School proudly celebrated its March Habit Heroes of the Month on Friday, March 20, 2026, during a special recognition breakfast. This meaningful event honored one outstanding student from each class who exemplifies Leader in Me Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.

Each student was recognized in front of peers and staff and received a certificate of recognition for demonstrating leadership through healthy habits and personal balance. We are incredibly proud of these students for modeling what it means to take care of themselves—both inside and out!

🌱 What Does “Sharpen the Saw” Mean?

Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw, focuses on self-renewal and maintaining balance in four key areas of life:

🧠 Mind – Learning, reading, and growing intellectually
💪 Body – Exercising, eating healthy, and staying active
❤️ Heart – Building relationships and showing kindness
🌟 Spirit – Finding purpose, reflecting, and maintaining a positive outlook

This habit teaches students that taking care of themselves helps them be their best in school, at home, and in their community. When students “sharpen their saw,” they are better prepared to lead, learn, and succeed.

🌍 About the Leader in Me Program

North Augusta Elementary is proud to implement the Leader in Me program, a nationally recognized leadership framework based on the principles from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. This program empowers students to become leaders of their own lives by building strong character, responsibility, and goal-setting skills.

Throughout the school year, students have learned and practiced the 7 Habits:

Be Proactive – Take responsibility for your actions
Begin with the End in Mind – Set goals and make a plan
Put First Things First – Prioritize what matters most
Think Win-Win – Seek solutions where everyone benefits
Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – Listen with empathy
Synergize – Work together to achieve more
Sharpen the Saw – Take care of yourself to stay balanced and effective

The Habit Hero breakfasts celebrate students who truly live out these habits each day, serving as role models for others.

💡 Keeping the Habit Alive at Home & School

Although this was the final Habit Hero Breakfast of the school year, the learning doesn’t stop here! Families and teachers can continue to support students in developing strong leadership habits:

For Parents:

Encourage daily reading and curiosity (Mind) 📚
Promote physical activity and healthy routines (Body) 🏃‍♂️
Spend quality time together and practice kindness (Heart) 💕
Help children reflect, set goals, and stay positive (Spirit) 🌈

For Teachers:

Incorporate brain breaks and movement into lessons
Foster classroom discussions about emotions and relationships
Provide opportunities for goal setting and reflection
Model balance and self-care

By continuing to reinforce Habit 7, we help students understand that taking care of themselves is essential to becoming strong, confident leaders.

🎉 A Proud Dolphin Moment

We are so proud of our March Habit Heroes and all of our students who have worked hard to grow as leaders this year. Thank you to our teachers, staff, and families for supporting the Leader in Me journey and helping our Dolphins shine! 🐬💛💙
