🏫✨ Special Visitors at NAES! ✨🏫
Today, we were honored to welcome Dr. Corey Murphy, Superintendent of Aiken County Public Schools, and Mr. Carl White, Director of Student Services, to North Augusta Elementary!
They spent time connecting with our Principal, Mr. Badillo, visiting classrooms, talking with students, and meeting our incredible teachers and staff. 💬👩🏫👨🎓
Their presence, encouragement, and genuine interest in our school community meant so much to our Dolphins! 💛🐬
We’re grateful for their leadership and continued support of our students and staff.

Today, Ms. Pope’s 5th grade mathematicians took learning to the next level with a Rock, Paper, Scissors Fractions Challenge! Students recorded the results of their "battles" to explore and represent data using fractions in real time! ➗🧠
It was a high-energy, hands-on way to connect math with movement and strategy — and the students had a blast while deepening their understanding! 🙌
👀 On a side note… Mr. Badillo and Mrs. Boyd — … Ms. Pope’s class is warmed up and READY to Rock, Paper Scissors ..! 🔥

Mrs. Anderson’s second-grade class at North Augusta Elementary read Our Class is a Family by Shannon Olsen to kick off the school year with kindness, connection, and care! 🏫✨
Together, we explored what it means to be a good friend and classmate — from showing empathy and respect to helping one another grow. These conversations helped us see how our classroom is truly like a real family. 👨👩👧👦💬
To celebrate, we made “Friendship in a Cup” — a sweet treat to share as we build strong bonds in our new class family! 🥣🧡
📘 SC 2nd Grade ELA Standard: RL.2.2 – Students recount stories and determine the central message, lesson, or moral.

Ms. Anderson’s 2nd grade class kicked off the school year with a fun and thoughtful activity centered around the book First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg. 💙
After reading the story, students had an open discussion about the feelings that come with the first day of school — from excitement to nervous butterflies — learning that it’s okay to feel a little jittery. To wrap up the story, they created and sipped on “Jitter Juice” with silly straws to celebrate facing those feelings with confidence and fun! 😄🌀
This engaging activity supports South Carolina ELA Standard 2.RL.5.1: Ask and answer literal and inferential questions to demonstrate understanding of a text; refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says and drawing inferences.
We’re so proud of our students for starting the year strong, sharing their feelings, and supporting one another. What an awesome first day in 2nd grade!

On Day 2 of Kindergarten, our youngest Dolphins dove into learning with a hands-on, foamy adventure! Students practiced writing their names and the letter “L” using shaving cream — a fun, sensory-rich way to build fine motor skills and early literacy.
This activity aligns with the South Carolina Kindergarten ELA Standard: K.W.2.2 – Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts. Today, they used creative movement and texture to begin mastering letter formation — and had loads of fun in the process!
We’re off to an amazing start, and our little learners are already making big strides! 🐬📚

Our fifth-grade students at North Augusta Elementary kicked off the new school year with a fun and engaging "Get to Know Your Classmates" activity! 💬✏️
Through conversation, laughter, and shared stories, students began forming the strong connections that will help create a supportive and inclusive classroom community. These early bonds are the foundation for a year filled with collaboration, confidence, and kindness.
We’re so proud of our students for stepping up, reaching out, and starting the year with open hearts and open minds. 💙🐬

Our first and second graders had a fantastic first day of school at NAUES! Even though the temperatures outside kept us indoors, that didn’t stop the fun. During indoor recess, our students spent time catching up with old friends and making new ones — laughter, smiles, and joyful chatter filled the rooms!
It was heartwarming to see our young Dolphins reconnect and settle into their new routines with such excitement and positivity. This day was a perfect reminder that it’s not where you play, but who you're with that makes the memories special.
Here’s to a year full of friendship, learning, and joy — no matter the weather! 💙🐬

Parents, get ready for a smooth dismissal! We're using an electronic system to make picking up your child quick and efficient.
How Our Car Line Works:
Dismissal Cards Are Key! Every family will receive a 3-digit dismissal number on a school-issued card. Please display this card with your child's name(s) and family number clearly visible on your dashboard or in your car window. A staff member will enter your code, and your child will be brought to your car.
Need extra cards? If grandparents, babysitters, or other approved adults will be picking up your child, please pick up additional dismissal cards from the school office. You must have a card displayed to pick up your child!
Choosing Your Car Line:
North Augusta Elementary has two convenient car lines to help manage traffic and get students home safely:
Front Car Line (Accessed from Georgia Ave.)
This line can get busy! We kindly ask that only Kindergarten and 1st Grade students (or those riding with them) use the front car line for dismissal.
Back Car Line (Accessed from Buena Vista Ave.)
Highly Recommended for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade car riders! The back car line exit is closer to these classrooms, and using it helps reduce congestion in the front.
Need directions to the back car line?
For the North Augusta Elementary School back car line, head to East Buena Vista Avenue and turn onto Mealing Avenue. Make a left turn onto Goldman Street. Continue on Goldman Street by taking the first right, and this will lead you directly to the back gate entrance.
We appreciate your cooperation in making dismissal safe and efficient for all our students!
