🔔⚙️ Science in Action in Fourth Grade! ⚙️🔔 Ms. Budreau’s fourth-grade scientists are putting their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to work! Students worked in groups to design a device that converts mechanical energy into sound energy by ringing bells. Throughout the challenge, students had the opportunity to design, build, test, observe, and improve their ideas while exploring how factors such as speed can affect energy and sound. What a great example of hands-on learning! These young scientists are discovering that sometimes the best learning happens when we work together, test our ideas, and learn from the results! 🧠💡 Way to go, fourth grade! 🐬💙💛 #NorthAugustaElementary #FourthGradeScience #HandsOnLearning #STEM #ScienceInAction #Teamwork #YoungScientists #DolphinsLeadTheWay

📚🏫 September is Attendance Awareness Month! 🏫📚

At NAUES, every day matters and every minute counts! 💙💛

Regular school attendance helps students build strong learning habits, develop meaningful relationships, stay connected to their classmates and teachers, and make important academic progress.

Did you know? Missing just 2 days of school each month can add up to about 18 days in a school year—enough to be considered chronically absent.

For our youngest Dolphins, consistent attendance is especially important. The habits students develop now can have a lasting impact on reading, learning, and future success.

🐬 Be Here. Be Ready. Make Every Day Count!

Thank you to our NAUES families for partnering with us to help our Dolphins arrive on time, attend consistently, and make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow!

🌊 Together, we’re Making Waves at NAUES—one school day at a time!

🐬💙💛 Celebrating Our Habit 1 Heroes! 💛💙🐬 We are so proud to celebrate our students at our Habit Hero Breakfast for demonstrating Habit 1: Be Proactive — You’re in Charge! Being proactive means taking responsibility for our choices, actions, attitudes, and responses. Our Habit Heroes are learning to take initiative, make responsible choices, solve problems, and focus on what they can control. Families can help reinforce Habit 1 at home by asking: ⭐ “What can you do about it?” ⭐ “What part can you control?” ⭐ “What would a proactive choice be?” ⭐ “What could you do differently next time?” At school and at home, we can help our Dolphins learn to stop, think, choose, and take responsibility for their actions. Congratulations to our Habit 1 Heroes! We are proud of you for leading by example and showing us what it means to Be Proactive! 🌟 #HabitHero #BeProactive #LeaderInMe #DolphinLeaders #NAEDolphins #Leadership

💙💛 A GREAT START FOR ALL PRO DAD! 💛💙 We were excited to kick off our first All Pro Dad meeting of the 2026–2027 school year this morning! 🐬 Thank you to all of the dads, father figures, and students who joined us as we began another year of growing, learning, and connecting together. All Pro Dad provides a wonderful opportunity for families to spend meaningful time together while helping our students develop positive behaviors, strong character, and leadership traits that will serve them both in and out of the classroom. Our first meeting focused on Leadership and the many ways our Dolphins can lead by example, make positive choices, and encourage others. 🌟 📅 Coming up next: At our September All Pro Dad meeting, we will focus on HONESTY—learning why telling the truth, being trustworthy, and doing the right thing are important parts of becoming a strong leader. We are looking forward to a fantastic year of growing together and building strong leaders, one meeting at a time! 💙🐬💛 #AllProDad #NorthAugustaElementary #DolphinPride #Leadership #GrowingLeaders #FamilyEngagement

🌊 NAUES Serve Day — Making Waves Together!

Dear NAUES Families,

We are excited to invite our NAUES families and community to join us for a Serve Day on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM!

Our goal is simple: to continue making NAUES a place where our students, staff, and families take pride and find joy in calling our school their “home away from home.” ❤️

During our Serve Day, we will be working together to:
🏀 Install new basketball nets
🎨 Paint four 4-Square games—two on the front basketball court and two on the back basketball court
🖌️ If we have enough volunteers, begin painting the staff restrooms located at the back of the school

This is more than a morning of painting and projects—it is an opportunity to come together as a NAUES family, invest in our school, and create spaces where our students can learn, play, and grow.

We would love your support! Whether you can volunteer your time, lend a helping hand, or simply come out and be part of the NAUES community, every contribution makes a difference.

Together, we can continue Making Waves at NAUES! 🌊🐬

We look forward to serving alongside you!

With Dolphin Pride,
Eli Badillo

🔎🧪 Second Grade Scientists at Work! 🧪🔎 Students in Mrs. Avila’s second-grade class have been busy exploring the properties of materials this week! Students learned how scientists observe and describe materials using properties such as rough, smooth, hard, soft, flexible, and absorbent. Today, they put their learning into action by creating their own Properties of Materials Collages! Students selected real-world items based on their observable properties and matched them to the correct categories. What a fun, hands-on way to bring science to life! ⚡💡 Sparking Curiosity in Fourth Grade! 💡⚡ Today, Mr. Anderson’s fourth-grade scientists explored how electricity flows through a circuit! 🔋🔌 Using an interactive online simulation, students experimented with batteries, wires, and light bulbs, dragging and dropping components to build their own virtual electrical circuits. Their challenge was to create a complete, closed circuit that allowed electricity to flow and made the light bulb shine! 💡 Through hands-on exploration, problem-solving, and a little trial and error, our Dolphins discovered firsthand how the different parts of a circuit work together. We love seeing our students experiment, investigate, and make connections through science! 🐬💙💛 #NorthAugustaElementary #NAUEDolphins #FourthGradeScience #STEMLearning #HandsOnLearning #ElectricCircuits #LearningInAction
