🚀🎈 Miss Ryan's 4th graders had a blast in science today experimenting with potential and kinetic energy! The more air we blew into our balloons, the greater the potential energy. When released, that energy transformed into kinetic energy — sending the balloons flying further across the room! 💨✨

This hands-on activity brought learning to life and helped students see energy in action.

📘 South Carolina 4th Grade Science Standard:
4.P.4 – Develop and use models to explain how the amount or type of potential energy determines the energy transfer and motion of objects.

🌟🏆 Gnome of Goodness Awards! 🏆🌟

Our amazing Activity Teachers have been on the lookout for classes that go above and beyond in showing respectful, responsible, and positive behavior during Activity time. 🎨🎶🤸‍♂️📚

To celebrate these efforts, one class in each grade level has been awarded the Gnome of Goodness — a fun challenge that encourages teamwork, kindness, and leadership in every Activity class. 🪄✨

After kicking off with Buddy Clubs, our Dolphins transitioned into their special interest clubs — exploring passions, practicing teamwork, and building friendships! 💛💙

From Earth Stewards 🌱 to Arts & Crafts 🎨, STEM & Science 🔬 to Dance & Fitness 💃, Sports ⚽, Board Games 🎲, Legos 🧩, Kindness & Art 💛, Play-Doh Fun 🎭, Keyboards 🎹, and even serving as Student Ambassadors 🌟— our students discovered the joy of learning, creating, and leading together.

Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot. ✨ It’s a day where students are encouraged to “make their mark” and see where their creativity takes them.

🎲✨ Ms. Rogers’s class wrapped up the week with a Fun Friday game of Guess Who? Students practiced identifying character traits and asking thoughtful questions while having a blast! 💛💙🐬

Learning + fun = the perfect way to end the week! 🌟

🔬✨ Today our kindergarteners had a special visit from Science Expert Stephen Nussbaum! He brought science to life with exciting, hands-on experiments to help students wrap up their Force and Motion unit. ⚡️💡

This experience directly supported the South Carolina Kindergarten Science Standards:

K.P.4A.1: Recognize the different ways objects move (straight, zigzag, round and round, back and forth, fast and slow).

K.P.4A.2: Develop and use models to predict and explain the effects of pushing or pulling on an object.

🌟🐬 First Grade is shining bright this week! 🌟🐬

Congratulations to our Weekly Leader Loot Winners and a big round of applause to our You Rock Award Winner, Kyler! 🎉 Kyler is always lending a helping hand in the lunchroom, taking down chairs for teachers each morning, and being a kind friend to all. 💛💙

Our first graders have also been working so hard earning Leader Loot that they’ve already reached the first goal marker on the fish tank! 🐟👏 To celebrate, they’ll be enjoying popsicles this Friday! 🍦✨

Mrs. Lewis’ class explored Force and Motion by constructing their own paper airplanes. Students tested their designs, and the three pictured soared the farthest! 🐬💛💙

🎶✨ Last week our 4th grade Dolphins had the incredible opportunity to travel to Aiken High School for a live performance by the Aiken Civic Orchestra as part of Carnegie Hall’s Link Up Program: The Orchestra Sings! 🐬💙💛

Our students were absolutely amazed by the music and had a fantastic time experiencing the power of a live orchestra. 🎻🥁🎺 One of the highlights was when our own music teachers took the stage, showcasing their talents on the recorder and even an ocarina—the students were thrilled to see their teachers shine! 🌟

Opportunities like this not only inspire a love for the arts, but also show our students how music connects us all. 🎶💫

Our 3rd Grade Dolphins had a rockin’ on-campus field trip with Diamond Del’s Gem Mining Adventure today! 🐬🔍 Students sifted, searched, and discovered real gems and minerals right here at school.

Diamond Del’s program brings the field trip to us and is designed to spark curiosity about rocks, minerals, and earth science concepts. It connects perfectly to our science standards while showing students that learning can be hands-on, exciting, and FUN! 🌎🔬

The smiles, discoveries, and sparkling treasures made it a day to remember! 🌟
