đś Feel the Beat at North Augusta Elementary! đś
Second graders in Mr. Palmerâs music class were grooving with rhythm sticks this weekâand the energy was electric! With each tap, click, and beat, students explored how music is organized into sets of 2, 3, and 4 beats, learning all about meter in the most hands-on way. Whether it was duple, triple, or quadruple time, these young musicians were counting, moving, and jamming like pros!
đŞľâ¨ Why rhythm sticks? Theyâre the perfect tool for helping students feel the beat, develop coordination, and connect movement to musical structure. Plus, they make learning rhythm super fun!
đ Learning in Action This activity aligns with the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts (2020):
2.M.PR.4 â Demonstrate and describe how musicâs expressive qualities (such as dynamics, tempo, and meter) can support a specific purpose.
2.M.CR.1 â Improvise rhythmic and melodic ideas, and describe connection to specific purpose and context.
2.M.R.3 â Identify and describe meter in music.
đľ These young musicians are building a strong foundation in rhythm, creativity, and musical expressionâone beat at a time!
đ¸ Stay tuned for more musical moments from Mr. Palmerâs class. At North Augusta Elementary, we donât just learn music⌠we live it! đ¤đ

đ SC Math Standards in Action:
4.NSBT.4: Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
4.MDA.2: Solve real-world problems involving measurements and calculations.
4.NSBT.5: Apply place value to round multi-digit numbers to any place.

đđ First Grade Leader Loot Fun! đđ
This past Friday (8/1/25), our fantastic First Grade Dolphins held their very first Leader Loot drawing of the school year â and what an exciting celebration of leadership it was!
Over the past few weeks, these young leaders have been working hard to demonstrate respectful behavior, responsibility, and positive choices across campus. As they modeled what it means to be a North Augusta Leader, students earned Leader Loot tickets â which were then entered into our weekly drawing.
đď¸ The more Leader Loot tickets earned, the better the chance of being selected â but the real reward is the positive habits being built every day. đŞ
Each Friday in First Grade, a few lucky winners are drawn at random and celebrated for their outstanding behavior, leadership, and commitment to our school expectations. đ
Weâre so proud of all our first-grade students for showing what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn â keep leading the way, Dolphins! đŹâ¨

Weâre excited to remind our NAUES families that the Security Federal Bank $uper $avings Club (formerly the Looney Tunes Saving Club) will be visiting every Wednesday during the school year!
The $uper $avings Club is a fun and exciting way to help children 11 and under build smart saving habits. Representatives from Security Federal Bank will be on campus weekly to collect deposits and encourage our young savers.
â How to Join:
⢠Open an account at any Security Federal Bank branch or online https://www.securityfederalbank.com/personal/savings/youth-savings-accounts
⢠Or open one during in-school banking days
⢠Applications are also available in the NAUES front office

đ Birthday Celebrations at North Augusta Elementary đ
We love to celebrate our Dolphins, but to keep our school day running smoothly, we kindly ask families to follow our birthday celebration guidelines:
đ In-Class Celebrations
Birthday celebrations must be coordinated in advance with your childâs classroom teacher (please allow several days' notice).
If you'd like to send in treats, please remember:
Limit to two store-bought items (examples: cupcakes, cookies, donuts, juice boxes, or individual chip bags).
Treats will be shared during lunch or at a time the teacher selects.
đŹ Party Invitations
Invitations may only be distributed at school if every child in the class is invited.
đ Deliveries
Please note that balloons, flowers, or gift deliveries are not permitted during the school day.
đ Want a Fun & Special Way to Celebrate?
Join our Happy Birthday Club!
For a small donation, you can have your childâs birthday celebrated on our schoolâs electronic sign â a fun way to make their day extra bright while helping support special events at NAUES.
Stop by the front office for more details and to pick up a form!
Thank you for helping us keep birthday celebrations joyful and manageable for everyone! đđđŹ
