🌟🐬 5th Grade Leaders Leading the Way! 🐬🌟 We are so proud of our 5th Grade Dolphins who are stepping up as leaders and making a difference at NAUE each and every morning! 💙💛 🚸 Our Safety Patrol students start their day by helping our newest and youngest Dolphins find their way to class. Their friendly smiles, helping hands, and willingness to serve help make our school feel safe, welcoming, and connected from the moment students walk through the doors. 🎙️📺 Our Dolphins News Announcers are also putting their leadership skills into action! Each morning, they welcome our school, share important announcements, and help start our day with positivity and encouragement—reminding everyone to be ready to learn, lead, and make the most of the day! These 5th graders are showing our younger Dolphins what leadership looks like through responsibility, kindness, confidence, and service to others. 🚨 LOCKDOWN DRILL REMINDER 🚨

The safety and security of our Dolphins is always a top priority at North Augusta Elementary School. 💙🐬

During the week of August 17, our school will conduct a lockdown drill to help ensure that students and staff are familiar with our safety procedures and prepared to respond appropriately in the event of a real emergency.

Teachers and staff will guide students through the drill in a calm, age-appropriate manner while reinforcing the importance of listening carefully, following directions, and remaining quiet and safe.

Please remember that this is only a scheduled practice drill. Families with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher.

💙📚 A Thank You From the Library — Five Years in the Making! 📚💛 As your Library Media Specialist, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to our NAUES families and our incredible NAUES PTO for your continued support of our school and library program. Five years ago, I set a pretty big goal: replace and update our library furniture that dated back to 1986! I knew it wasn't something we could accomplish all at once, so I created a three-stage plan and began saving our Scholastic Book Fair profits little by little each year. 📚 Stage 1: New student tables and chairs 💻 Stage 2: Additional seating for our computer area 🛋️ Stage 3: New “comfortable seating” where students can settle in with a great book Thanks to the families who have supported our Book Fairs year after year, I was able to use our Book Fair profits to complete Stages 1 and 2. Then, last spring, something wonderful happened. 💙 Our amazing NAUES PTO generously contributed funds to the library, and by combining their contribution with the Book Fair funds I had saved, we were able to complete Stage 3 ahead of schedule! Without their generosity, I would likely have been saving for another two years to make this final stage a reality. Today, when I look around our library and see students reading, learning, collaborating, and enjoying these new spaces, I see so much more than new furniture. I see what happens when a school community comes together for its children. 🐬📚 To every parent, grandparent, family member, and friend who has shopped at one of our Book Fairs over the years—YOU helped make this happen. Every book purchased and every Book Fair supported contributed to improving our library for the students we serve today and for the Dolphins who will come through our doors for many years to come. And to our NAUES PTO—thank you for believing in and supporting our library program and for helping me turn a long-term dream into reality much sooner than I ever expected. Your support of our students, faculty, and school means more than you know. 🏀📚 Math in Action in Mr. Anderson’s Fourth Grade! 🔢✨ Mr. Anderson’s fourth graders have been putting their math skills to work with some fun, hands-on learning! Over the past couple of weeks, students have tackled a Basketball Math Rounding Activity 🏀, practicing their rounding skills while adding a little game-day excitement to math. They also completed “Where Do I Belong?”, an interactive place value activity that challenged students to use their understanding of digits and their values to determine exactly where numbers belong. 🔢🧠 Activities like these give our Dolphins opportunities to think, problem-solve, collaborate, and apply their math skills in meaningful ways.
