High school seniors and their parents are invited to attend FAFSA Night for hands-on help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Your 2024 Federal Tax Return
(This can be imported directly into the FAFSA with parental permission.)
Attendees will receive support from experienced financial aid professionals from both USC Aiken and Aiken Technical College. Take this opportunity to get your FAFSA completed early and correctly.

This is a drop-style event. Parents and guardians are encouraged to drop-in and visit teachers to check students progress.
If a conference appointment is necessary, parents/guardians should email the individual teacher or communicate this need via ROOMS.

Following an extensive search of Midland Valley High School's campus by law enforcement, including a thorough sweep of school grounds by the K-9 unit, the “all clear” has been given to resume regular operations. No weapon was located during the search.
We are committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment, and encourage anyone with a safety concern to share that promptly with the appropriate authorities.
Midland Valley's staff, students, and families were extremely patient this morning. Thank you! Your cooperation allowed for an efficient search and investigation. In partnership with The Aiken County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies, this concern was able to be addressed safely and securely. As always, we are grateful for law enforcement's assistance and support.
Student lunch periods will be slightly delayed as a result of today's search. As Midland Valley returns to regular operations, please note a modified lunch schedule is being implemented.
Third Block will begin at 12:45PM.
• First Lunch: 12:45-1:10PM. All afternoon Aiken County Career & Technology Students will report to first lunch. Bus transportation for ACCTC will be available at 1:10 p.m.
• Second Lunch 1:15-1:35PM.
• Third Lunch 1:40-2:05PM.
• Fourth lunch 2:10-2:35PM.
All students will report to Fourth Block by 2:40PM.

Please be aware that law enforcement and school administration are actively searching for a contraband item on Midland Valley's campus at this time. The school has implemented our Hold Standard Response Protocol. During “Hold,” students remain in their classroom and normal instruction, and operations continue.
The student reported to have brought a handgun was quickly identified, searched, and does not have the weapon on their person. Administration and law enforcement are interviewing this student and others for information and an extensive search for the weapon is being conducted.
Additional information will be shared here as it is made available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work collaboratively with law enforcement to complete this search and ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families.

HAPPY LABOR DAY
All Aiken County Public School District schools, buildings, and offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in observance of Labor Day.
We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend! We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

We will be honoring all of our First Responders.
Any First Responder displaying credentials will be allowed in for free (guests will be required to have a ticket). At half time we will ask all First Responders to come down to the track (25 yard line on the scoreboard end) and be given instructions to be recognized. We would be honored for our local heroes to attend this game and be recognized for all the hard work and dedication they have given to our community. On Early Dismissal Days, elementary school students are dismissed at 11:30 a.m., middle school students at 12:10 p.m., and high school students at 12:30 p.m.
Early dismissal times are slightly different for Aiken Scholars Academy (ASA), as well as our schools in the Ridge Spring area. ASA early dismissal will be at noon, Ridge Spring-Monetta (RSM) Elementary is at 11:55 a.m., RSM Middle at 12:15 p.m. and RSM High at 12:20 p .m. The ASPIRE Evening Program will not be held tomorrow.
These Early Dismissal Days are part of the 2025-26 Aiken County Public School District Calendar and are necessary to support state-wide required teacher training. Please make any necessary arrangements for your child's early dismissal. Elementary school student after school care through Quest Zone is available.
