Veterans Day Celebration - Please join us at 10AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 for our annual Veterans Day assembly in the NEMS gym.

We’re excited to welcome Ms. Tripp to the NEMS family as our new Assistant Principal! With 23 years of experience teaching middle school English and four years as an administrator, she brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and dedication to our campus.

Ms. Tripp is passionate about building meaningful connections with students, teachers, and families — because she believes those relationships are the foundation of a strong and thriving school culture. She’s eager to support teachers in their professional growth, help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, and ensure every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, Ms. Tripp loves to read, shop, and spend time with her three boys — Brayden, Ben, and Barrett — all of whom are studying business at USC-Aiken!

We’re so glad to have her join our team! 💚💛

This morning New Ellenton Middle was placed on a Secure status, following the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) procedures. This was done out of an abundance of caution after hearing gun fire in the distance behind the school. A Secure status requires that students be kept inside with all exterior doors locked, and for NEMS that means no students on the breezeway or in the mobile classrooms. SRO Tuper, school administration and district personnel continually assessed the situation to ensure safety for all of our NEMS students, faculty and staff. During the Secure SRP, teaching and learning continues inside the safety of our campus walls. For more information on our Standard Response Protocol, click the Safe & Secure Schools information on our district website. The New Ellenton Police Department has investigated and we have since been given the all clear to resume regular operations.
