🌟🏆 Gnome of Goodness Awards! 🏆🌟
For the past few weeks, our amazing Activity Teachers have been carefully watching for classes that go above and beyond in demonstrating respectful, responsible, and positive behavior during Activity time. 🎨🎶🤸♂️📚
To celebrate these efforts, one class in each grade level has been awarded the Gnome of Goodness — a friendly competition designed to encourage teamwork, kindness, and leadership in every Activity class. 🪄✨
🎉 The following classes have earned the honor of keeping their Grade Level Gnome for the next three weeks:
👏 Kindergarten - Mrs. Kowalchuk
👏First Grade - Ms. Neely
👏Second Grade - Ms. Smith
👏Third Grade - Mrs. Spires
👏Fourth Grade - Ms. Ware
👏Fifth Grade - Ms. Null
These classes will proudly care for their Gnome as a reminder of the positive choices that earned them this recognition. 💛💙
But the fun doesn’t stop here! Our Activity Teachers are already on the lookout for the next round of winners. Which classes will rise to the challenge and show their best behavior to earn the Gnome of Goodness next time? 🐬🙌
Keep up the great work, Dolphins — the gnomes are watching! 😉✨

🎉💛 First Grade Leader Loot Champions + Our “You Rock” Superstar! 💙🎉
This week, our fantastic First Grade Dolphins made waves with another exciting round of Leader Loot! 🐬✨ These students have been shining examples of respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn — showing everyone what true leadership looks like at NAUES. 🌟
All week long, our Dolphins earned Leader Loot tickets by making positive choices, being role models for their classmates, and proving that great habits lead to great rewards. 💪 While every ticket is a win, the biggest prize is the confidence, kindness, and leadership skills they are building each day. 🙌
On Friday, our lucky winners were drawn and celebrated for their commitment to excellence! 🎊 And a special spotlight goes to this week’s “You Rock” Winner — a kind and thoughtful leader who shines on the playground by sharing toys, showing kindness, and always using her best manners. 🌈💖
We are so proud of our First Grade Dolphins for leading with heart, respect, and positivity. Keep swimming strong, leaders — you inspire us all! 🐬💛💙

🎨💛💙 Dolphin Talent on Display! 🐬✨
We are so proud of the incredible artistic talents of two of our very own teachers!
Mrs. Megan Whisnant created a beautiful hand-painted dolphin picture that now welcomes everyone in our front office.
Mrs. Kristina Todd painted a stunning piece featuring our NAUES dolphin logo alongside the American and South Carolina flags 🇺🇸🌸—a special gift presented to Congressman Joe Wilson during his recent visit.
Their creativity and school spirit shine brightly, reminding us that our teachers inspire both inside and outside the classroom! 🌟

🇺🇸 Honoring Tradition & Respect 💛💙
Today, two of our students had the privilege of learning from Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Mike Haggerty as they respectfully retired the flags outside NAUES. Chief Haggerty shared a bit of flag history, guided them through the proper procedures for lowering and folding, and modeled the pride and honor that comes with this important tradition.
Moments like these remind us of the value of respect, patriotism, and community service—lessons that go far beyond the classroom. 🙌🐬✨

💛💙 Dolphins Lead Together! 💙💛
On August 20th, our students kicked off the school year with the first Buddy Club meeting of 2025! 🐬✨
Buddy Clubs are a special NAUES tradition where younger and older grade levels “buddy up” to learn and grow together. These partnerships give our students the chance to practice Leader in Me skills, build friendships across grade levels, and strengthen our school community. 🌟
From teamwork to responsibility, kindness to leadership — Buddy Clubs remind us that we are stronger when we lead and learn side by side! 💫

🌍 Creative Land & Water Models in Ms. Anderson’s 2nd Grade Science Class! 🌊
Ms. Anderson’s second graders have been busy designing and building their very own models of landforms—everything from mountains, valleys, and hills to rivers, lakes, and oceans! Not only did these hands-on projects spark creativity, but they also brought to life key South Carolina science standards:
South Carolina Science Standards in Action
2-ESS2-2: Develop a model to represent the shapes and kinds of land and bodies of water in an area
Students identified and physically represented various natural features like hills, plains, rivers, and lakes. Their models demonstrate understanding of real-world patterns in land and water.
South Carolina Department of Education
Generation Genius
2-ESS2-3: Obtain information to identify where water is found on Earth and that it can be solid or liquid
Through research and observation, students recognized that water exists in places like oceans and rivers, and even as ice. Their creations helped illustrate these concepts in tangible form
