Celebrating Excellence in Teaching and Support at North Augusta Elementary School
At North Augusta Elementary School, we are proud to recognize our October âYou Rockâ Award winnersâtwo exceptional individuals who embody creativity, compassion, dedication, and the true spirit of our Dolphin family. đđđŹ
đ Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Megan Whisnant
Creative. Kind. Calm. Inspiring. These are just a few words that come to mind when describing our October Teacher of the Month, the incredible Mrs. Megan Whisnant!
Mrs. Whisnant is known for her innovative teaching style and her ability to make learning come alive for her fifth-grade students. Whether sheâs integrating hands-on art projects into her lessons or finding new and engaging ways to make challenging topics exciting, Mrs. Whisnantâs classroom is a place where creativity and curiosity thrive. Her students adore her, and her colleagues admire her gentle leadership and steady graceâespecially when working with energetic fifth graders who keep her on her toes!
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Whisnant shares her artistic talents throughout our school. Sheâs one of the gifted hands behind several of our beautiful new hallway murals and seasonal displays that bring warmth, color, and inspiration to our building. Her love for her students, her school, and her craft shines through in everything she does. We are truly fortunate to have such a dedicated and creative educator leading our Dolphins each day!
đź Staff Member of the Month: Mrs. Greer Rowland
Also shining bright this month is our Staff Member of the Month, the always cheerful and hard-working Mrs. Greer Rowland!
As the friendly face of our front office, Mrs. Rowland is often the first person families, staff, and visitors meet when they come to North Augusta Elementaryâand what a wonderful first impression she makes! Her warmth, professionalism, and endless positivity set the tone for our entire school community. She greets everyone with a smile, offers a helping hand without hesitation, and somehow manages to juggle the many responsibilities of her role with grace and efficiency.
Mrs. Rowland is the heartbeat of our front officeâarriving early, staying late, and doing it all with kindness and care. Her dedication ensures that every day at NAUES runs smoothly, and her positivity lifts us all. Simply put, to know Mrs. Rowland is to love her!
đđ Thank You, Mrs. Whisnant and Mrs. Rowland!
Both of these extraordinary women exemplify what it means to be a Dolphinâcreative, caring, dedicated, and always willing to go above and beyond. We are so proud to celebrate Mrs. Megan Whisnant and Mrs. Greer Rowland as our October âYou Rockâ Award Winners!
Once a Dolphin, Always a Dolphin! đŹâ¨

Mrs. Kowalchukâs class had a blast exploring 2D shapes today using popsicle sticks! Students discovered that some shapes could be built easily while others could notâbecause shapes have straight sides and corners that make them unique. Through hands-on investigation, our youngest Dolphins practiced reasoning, problem-solving, and teamwork while learning about the attributes of shapes. đ
đ Aligned South Carolina Kindergarten Math Standards:
K.G.2 â Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes in different sizes and orientations, describing similarities, differences, parts (e.g., sides and corners), and other attributes.
K.G.3 â Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
K.MP.1â8 (Mathematical Practices) â Make sense of problems, reason abstractly, use appropriate tools strategically, and look for structure in mathematics.

This monthâs topic is Determination â the drive to keep going, even when things get tough. đŞ

We hope to see you there as we grow together in leadership and family connection!
