Day 1 is in the books! There were a lot of smiles on Monday as our students traversed the halls anxious to meet their teachers this year!










Are you interested in joining the girls tennis team? Tryouts for the NAHS girls tennis team will be July 31st and August 1st at Riverview Park. As students return to school, per state mandate, all Personal Electronic Devices & Accessories at School (e.g. cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, gaming consoles, earbuds, headphones, etc.) must be powered off, stored, out-of-sight, and not in use during the school day (8:10am until 3:30pm). Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action. Thank you, students, for your compliance with this state-required policy aimed to create a more focused learning environment.

All of our faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for your arrival tomorrow, Monday, July 21st! The cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:45am and the building opens at 8:10am with the first bell ringing at 8:20am. All students, including all seniors and career center students, should report to homeroom to receive your schedules and be counted. Homerooms will be posted upon entry into the school. All students, both new and returning must register to attend classes on Monday! We are so excited to start the 2025-2026 school year with you!










All Career Center students must check in with their homeroom on July 21st to be counted. After checking in, am Career Center students who drive should proceed directly to the Career Center. Students who ride the bus should go to the cafeteria to catch their bus to the Career Center. All career center students should also report to homeroom on July 22, July 23, July 28th, and August 4th.

This is for all students interested in playing sports at NAHS and their parents. Coaches will also be distributing Raffle Tickets at the meeting. All students and their parents are asked to attend.

CANCELED: The registration assistance session scheduled for this evening from 5pm until 7pm in the Media Center has been canceled due to an internet outage. We are still planning on holding the session tomorrow morning from 8am until 10am. You may also register your child through PowerSchool. The North Augusta Wrestling program is moving forward strong! Coach Matt Franklin will return as Head Coach, along with the entire assistant coaching staff for the upcoming season.
🔥 The team is chasing its third straight Region Championship and has its sights set on a State Title! With 10 returning state qualifiers from last year, the Jackets are ready to make a big impact.
💪 We’re looking for dedicated and hardworking boys and girls in grades 7–12 to join the team. No experience necessary—just a strong work ethic and a winning mindset.

Attention all parents and guardians: Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is required for both new and returning students. Students will not receive class schedules until registration is complete. Please check your email for information on completing the registration process.

NAHS New Student and Freshman Tours will occur July 14-17, 2025 at 2:00pm. New students, freshman and parents are invited to tour NAHS during the week of July 14-17, 2025 at 2:00pm each day. Members of our Student 2 Student Club will be providing tours that will begin in the School Counseling Office at 2pm. Walk Your Schedule will be on July 17th. The dates above will be your only opportunity for a tour of NAHS prior to the start of school so please make every opportunity to attend.

Parents and Guardians now is the time to schedule a well-visit or vaccine appointment with your child’s healthcare provider to avoid the back-to-school rush before the 2025-26 school year begins on July 21! The SC Department of Public Health is also offering a vaccine clinic for students in grades 5K–12 on July 8 from 9–11:30 a.m. and 1–3:30 p.m. at the Aiken County Health Department (222 Beaufort Street NE, Aiken). Call (803) 642-7543 to make an appointment and bring vaccination and insurance records; a parent or guardian must accompany children under 16. No-cost vaccines may be available, though administration fees may apply. Don’t forget to submit your child’s updated SC Immunization Certificate to their school and note that all rising 7th graders must have a Tdap booster given at age 10 or older. CLASS OF 2025 VALEDICTORIAN/SALUTATORIAN PROFILES
North Augusta High School
Salutatorian: Evan Michael Hargrove
Evan Hargrove, Salutatorian of the North Augusta High School Class of 2025, is a well-rounded student leader with a passion for global business and community involvement. He serves as Director of the Yellow Jacket News Show, Vice President of North Augusta’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter, and a Captain on the Academic Team. He is also a member of both Beta Club and the National Honor Society.
In addition to his academic and leadership roles, Evan works at Parks Pharmacy as a cashier and enjoys reading, playing pick-up basketball, and watching Liverpool FC. He played saxophone for seven years as a section leader in the Jacket Regiment Marching Band, reflecting his long-standing dedication to music.
Evan plans to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he will join the Honors College and pursue a degree in International Business. He also plans to study abroad in Hong Kong to further explore business in East Asia. His long-term goal is to work in the logistics division of a multinational company, such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

CLASS OF 2025 VALEDICTORIAN/SALUTATORIAN PROFILES
North Augusta High School
Valedictorian: Lyles Blalock Cannon
Lyles Cannon, Valedictorian of the North Augusta High School Class of 2025, is a dynamic student leader and dedicated scholar. He currently serves as FBLA Chapter President and is a member of the South Carolina FBLA State Officer Team. He also contributes to his school community as Co-Director of the Yellow Jacket News Show and is an active member of Beta Club and the National Honor Society.
Outside of the classroom, Lyles is a competitive rock climber, participating in the USA Climbing Youth Circuit. He has volunteered with the North Augusta Stormwater Department and co-founded a mentorship program for middle school students, demonstrating his commitment to service and leadership.
This fall, Lyles plans to attend the University of South Carolina’s Honors College, where he will major in Biomedical Engineering.
