New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School Principal's List - A Honor Roll
NEMS A/B Honor Roll

District Leadership made surprise visits at schools and offices across the District today to celebrate this year’s Stars of Public Education Honor Court. The recognition program and event honoring ACPSD’s brightest stars first began as our annual Teacher of the Year celebration, and has grown to incorporate recognition of our very best New Teachers, Principals, Assistant Principals, Classified Staff, Professionals, and District-Level Administrators. With its origin in mind, we’ll begin our first Stars of Public Education Honor Court announcements with Teacher of the Year.

WIDA ACCESS is a test administered to students in grades K-12 who are identified as English learners. An English learner is a student who is formally identified as needing language supports to successfully engage with academic content in English. WIDA ACCESS measures students’ English language skills in Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. The WIDA ACCESS Testing Window is January 21, 2026 - February 27, 2026.

Good evening New Ellenton Families-- Using recommendations from the South Carolina Department of Health, Aiken County School Nurses perform basic vision, hearing, and dental screenings throughout the school year. These recommendations are posted on the district website, www.acpsd.net, under Nursing Services. The purpose of the screenings is to promote health and identify potential problems that may affect classroom learning. In the next few weeks, Nurse Johnson will be doing these screenings for 7th grade students at NEMS. If you do NOT want your child to participate in the school screenings performed by the Nurse, please send a note to the school to opt-out by Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Please call Nurse Johnson at 803-652-8200 if you have any questions!

We had so much fun working with Corinth Baptist Church New Ellenton to design and build Pine Box Race Cars! We learned about aerodynamics and the mechanics of building a car, and we finally got to race them on Thursday! We are so thankful for our partnership with Corinth Baptist Church in New Ellenton!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to NEMS just in time for the holidays. Starting Monday, December 8 - 12, the library will be stocked with all types of books and supplies for purchase. Students are welcome to shop during the school day and are also encouraged to come with family for night events. The Book Fair will be open during the Home Basketball games Monday night and for Night of the Arts Tuesday evening.
