With the possibility of a Winter Storm on everyone’s radar, please know that we are in close collaboration with local Emergency Management Officials in monitoring for impact to our area.

Confidence in the weekend storm’s possible impact to Aiken County has decreased. However, in an abundance of caution, our District and school’s weekend activities scheduled to extend beyond noon this Saturday, January 24, will be rescheduled.

This includes numerous activities, such as Saturday’s acGATEWAY auditions, as well as the MLK Jr. Community Event previously scheduled for Sunday. Individual schools and programs will share details on these and other cancellations along with rescheduled dates and times.

Our emergency management team will continue to work closely with local officials in monitoring the storm over the coming days. As we prepare for the possibility of e-learning on Monday, students will be sent home from school tomorrow with their laptop and remote assignments.

A decision regarding the safety of operations for next week will be made as soon as possible. We recognize that school closure decisions have a tremendous impact on our community, especially parents and guardians. Please know that the safety of our students, families, teachers and staff is always our highest priority, and that every effort will be made to utilize our five designated e-learning days carefully so as to not extend the school year to meet mandated requirements. An update regarding operations for Monday, January 26, will be shared no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 25.

As a reminder, our Theater class will be presenting "A Wrinkle in Time" this evening in the Media Center starting 7:00pm with doors opening at 6:30pm. We request that you access the building through the main office parking lot doors. Remember, tickets may be purchased through GoFan. There are encore performances Friday and Saturday evenings as well! Come out and support the program and these students as they share their talents with you!

A huge JACKET shoutout to Izaak Pacheco for his placement into the SC All State Orchestra!! He earned the seat of Violin 1, 8th chair.

The All-State Orchestra is comprised of the best young musicians from across South Carolina. Placement in this ensemble is an honor and a testament to Izaak's dedication and love of music. WAY TO GO IZAAK!

Golf Tryouts will be February 2-3 at the River Golf Club. Any boys interested in playing golf need to see Mr. Spears in D310 to make a tee time.

Attention Seniors! The school counseling office is excited to begin our senior slideshow to celebrate your plans after graduation. Please send your school counselor copies of your college acceptance letters, military enlistment paperwork if you plan to serve, or information about workforce opportunities if you plan to work after graduation. If you are submitting college acceptances, please select your top six schools to be featured in the slideshow.

Access Testing for all MLL students begins January 21st and runs through February 27th. This is an English Proficiency Examination. Students have been notified of their testing dates.

As a reminder, all seniors need to arrive to school by 8:15am tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st, to retake the senior photo in the Jacket Arena. This is a retake due to issues with the previous picture!

As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, January 19th as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, January 20th. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

⚠️ Important Deadline:
The last day to apply for Dual Enrollment for Fall 2026 is March 1, 2026.

If you are currently enrolled in Dual Enrollment you do not need to attend this meeting but you do need to reapply for the 2026-2027 school year.

2026 Prom Night will be on March 14th from 7:00pm - 10:00pm at Palmetto Terrace in North Augusta. Tickets will be on sale starting February 10th on GoFan.

Jacket basketball swept Airport Tuesday night at home. Both JV teams and varsity teams won! Varsity girls won 57-18 and Varsity boys won 74-21.

JV teams will host Brookland-Cayce at home Thursday, and varsity teams travel to Brookland-Cayce Friday night! Go Jackets!

Job Shadowing Day will be held on Friday, January 30th with applications being due by Monday, January 26th. On Wednesday, January 21st, our Career Specialist will be in the media center during all three lunches to provide more information and to assist with the application process. Bring your lunch and enjoy this informative session!
