Our HSMS Ambassadors are spreading holiday cheer this season with their Christmas project — the North Pole Pet Project! From December 3–17, we’ll be collecting donations for the Friends of the North Augusta Animal Shelter. Items can include dog and cat food, treats, toys, and other pet supplies.

It’s an Advisory competition! The winning homeroom will earn a basket of goodies for the teacher (gift cards and more!) and a giant stocking of candy and treats for the class!

Let’s make the season brighter for our furry friends and show our Riverhawk generosity!

It’s time for Penny Wars, Riverhawks! From October 20–31, each Advisory will have a jar in the cafeteria. Here’s how it works:
• Add pennies and paper money to YOUR Advisory’s jar for positive points (1 penny = +1 point, $1 = +100 points, etc.)
• Drop silver coins into ANOTHER Advisory’s jar to sabotage them with negative points (nickel = -5, dime = -10, quarter = -25).

Jars will be counted on Oct. 22, 24, and 29 so you can see how the battle is going. Final results will be announced on Oct. 31!

🏆 Prizes:
• The grade with the highest points wins a fun lunch to sit with friends.
• The Advisory with the most points wins an ice cream party during lunch.
• The lowest-scoring Advisory must send a representative to get silly-stringed by admin! 🤪

Why we’re doing it:
This PTO fundraiser helps us buy every teacher a classroom wish-list item or two for Christmas(think sanitizer, Jolly Ranchers, and other essentials). It also funds the cookies and hot cocoa we’ll serve in December to celebrate students who met their iReady goals!

Bring your change, play smart, and help support our teachers and students while having some competitive fun! 🦅
