We will be playing Coraline (PG), a family-friendly animated horror film based on Neil Gaiman's creepy classic. Entry is $5/car.
Where: HSMS Football Field
When: Friday 10/23. Gates will open at 6:30, with the film starting at 7:15
Who: Students, families, and community members!
Don't forget to bring blankets and chairs to sit on! We will also have food available to purchase like concession snacks, grilled hot dogs, and Nickey's Ice Cream Truck.

Boo Bash is ONE WEEK AWAY!
Students are invited to attend Boo Bash on Friday, October 30th in the HSMS Cafeteria from 1:45-3:00 pm.
Tickets will be on sale during lunches the week of the event, with each ticket being $2.00.
Concessions will also be for sale during the event, so make sure to bring some change if you'd like to purchase a few snacks!
Please note that this is not a costume event.
There are two more weeks to submit a veteran you would like honored at Highland Springs this year!
This year's Veteran's Day program will be held on November 11 that 2:00pm in the HSMS gym.
We invite our students and community members to share about the veterans in their lives so we can feature them in our Wall of Honor display. To be featured, we ask that interested students pick up a form from Mrs. Jones in D100. Please email the portrait you would like to feature on the wall to cjones6@acpsd.net OR bring it to Mrs. Jones so a copy can be made.
The final day for submissions is November 6th.

This event was held in downtown North Augusta at the Sharon Jones Amphitheater, and was attended by students from across Aiken County!
Brave teachers, staff, and administrators opted in, students bought the tattoos, and tatted teachers participated in a runway-style presentation of their tattoos at our pep rally yesterday!

We hosted our first pep rally of the year yesterday afternoon! It was a fun-filled celebration of our school's athletes and all of their hard work! 💙💚
The pep rally included performances from our intermediate band students, dances from the cheerleaders, introductions of our volleyball and football players, musical chairs, and a balloon popping game.
If that wasn't enough fun, our students also participated in a class versus class cheering competition. Congratulations 6th graders for having the most school spirit! Our ears are still ringing! 📢

Does your student love Halloween? We have no shortage of creepy books on display AND a new craft set up at the Creation Station.
Students visiting the Media Center with a pass or on break are invited to make a bat, pumpkin, or ghost using upcycled book pages. Check out some of our 6th and 7th graders working on some! 🦇🎃👻
No library books were harmed in this craft, we don't want the Media Center to be haunted!
This free concert brought community members together to enjoy live music, advocate for animals in need, and raise money for the Friends of the North Augusta Animal Shelter! Students also had the opportunity to meet City Councilman Dennis Briatico (see 2nd picture).

The pageant will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 3 PM, with tickets on sale online now.
Interested in competing? Students can pick up a registration form in the cafeteria! All forms, dress approval, and a registration fee of $60 is due on October 23rd. This year's theme is All American State Fair.

6th grade AVID and 8th grade students had an amazing time visiting the USC campus today!
They got to see the Long Street Theater, the Thomas Cooper Library, the Russel House Union, and got to eat lunch on campus in the Union or on the Horseshoe!
Interested students will form teams of 4, read from this booklist, and battle it out at school and district competitions. All are welcome to join. A sign-up sheet is available in the Media Center!
