This summer, Aiken County’s most talented young artists immersed themselves in the acGATEWAY experience, which is an intensive, high-level arts program designed to challenge and inspire! From vibrant visual art displays to moving theatrical performances, students demonstrated what passion, focus, and creativity can achieve in just a few short weeks! Want to see what makes acGATEWAY so special? Watch our behind-the-scenes student videos and discover why this program has been a beloved part of Aiken County since 1992 and keep an eye out for 2026 acGATEWAY audition information for our summer 2026 opportunity. #acGATEWAY #AikenArts #GiftedAndTalented #ArtsEducation #StudentShowcase #VisualAndPerformingArts #ACPSD https://www.acpsd.net/page/gateway

Welcome Back and We are excited for a new school year to start. It was great seeing many returning students and getting to meet some of our new students to Gloverville Elementary.
Below are some reminders as we start the new school year.
Back to School Reminders:
The school building opens at 7:00am. Students are not to be dropped off prior to 7:00am.
Car riders in the morning are all dropped off in front of the school off Pine Street. Students are dropped off under the awning and will walk into the front entrance of the building. If they want breakfast, they will go to the cafeteria first. Students will eat breakfast in the cafeteria and then go to their designated area prior to 7:30am. Our PreK students will gather in the Art room, 5K-1st grade students in the library, 2nd -3rd grade students on our back hallway, and 4th -5th grade students in the 4th grade hallway.
The tardy bell rings at 7:30am. If you arrive after 7:30am you will need to walk your child into the office and sign them in.
The school day for students is from 7:30am until 2:30pm.
Dismissal is at 2:30pm.
All Pre-Kindergarten students through 2nd grade car riders are dismissed from the primary wing (School Street). When lining up, there are NO RIGHT turns into the car line.
3rd through 5th grade students are dismissed from the front entrance (Pine Street). We will load the cars lined up under the awning, then we will move up the line and start the process over again. If a 3rd-5th grade student has younger siblings, they should go to the Primary Wing to be dismissed.
ALL transportation changes must be made in writing. NO changes should be made over the phone. Changes cannot be made after 2:00pm. Make sure if there is a change, you send a note with your student and give it to your child’s teacher.
Bus transportation:
In order to ride the bus, students should have had a bus transportation form filled out while registering online or in your parent portal. Students are only allowed to ride the bus if you signed up for bus transportation prior to the first day of school. The pickup and drop off time and location are available in your Parent Portal.
Please join our PTO, they are a vital part of our school and do many events in addition to providing treats for the students throughout the school year. Please be on the look out for a PTO Sign Up form coming soon.
If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday to start a new school year.

Parents and Guardians now is the time to schedule a well-visit or vaccine appointment with your child’s healthcare provider to avoid the back-to-school rush before the 2025-26 school year begins on July 21! The SC Department of Public Health is also offering a vaccine clinic for students in grades 5K–12 on July 8 from 9–11:30 a.m. and 1–3:30 p.m. at the Aiken County Health Department (222 Beaufort Street NE, Aiken). Call (803) 642-7543 to make an appointment and bring vaccination and insurance records; a parent or guardian must accompany children under 16. No-cost vaccines may be available, though administration fees may apply. Don’t forget to submit your child’s updated SC Immunization Certificate to their school and note that all rising 7th graders must have a Tdap booster given at age 10 or older. Contact your child’s healthcare provider or school nurse with any questions and visit acpsd.net/page/nursing-services for more information.
