Attention multi language learner families, check out this flyer for some exciting registration and language screening opportunities! If you have a student who is new to ACPSD (or know a student who will be starting school this July), please see below!

The Multilingual Learners Department will be hosting Summer ML Registration and Language Screening Events for newly enrolled students whose Home Language Survey indicates that a language other than English is spoken at home. These events will allow our team to complete language screenings, determine eligibility for ML services, and prepare ILAPs and accommodations before the first day of school so that supports can be in place immediately when students arrive.

If you have questions about this event, please just reach out to us. 803-646-6125

Our OWES family is growing! We are excited to introduce an existing OWES family member who will be serving in a different capacity in the 2026-2027 school year! Mr. Iaukea is not going anywhere but due to our growing student population and needs within our building, the board of education graciously approved an additional assistant principal for our sweet school. Last year, 12 ACPSD elementary schools received this additional administrative personnel but Oakwood-Windsor did not quite make the cut. This year, the board approved for us and one additional elementary school to receive this wonderful gift.

PALMETTO CIVICS PROJECT AN INITIATIVE OF THE SC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Families are invited to participate in Summer SC 250 activities as South Carolina prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and our state’s important role in our nation’s history. These summer activities provide meaningful opportunities for students and families to learn, explore, and connect with local and state history. Take part and help celebrate South Carolina’s rich history, heritage, and contributions to our country.

The Palmetto Civics Project is a resource-rich initiative designed to foster students’ understanding of and respect for the institutions that sustain our civic life. Our goal is simple but profound: every South Carolina graduate will leave school prepared to embrace the privileges and the responsibilities of American citizenship.

Please visit SC Palmetto Civics Project to learn more.

Graduation week is here, and we can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2026 at their commencement ceremonies being held at USC Aiken's Convocation Center!

To help graduation attendees enjoy a smooth, stress-free day, please remember that there will be metal detection upon arrival. We kindly ask that you review the attached graphic for prohibited items, such as bags, balloons, and outside food, so you can leave those items safely in your vehicle before heading to the entrance.
