Summer Reading 2026

Dolphin Reading Passport – Summer Reading Adventure 2026

Summer is almost here, and North Augusta Elementary School is excited to encourage our Dolphins to keep reading all summer long with our Dolphin Reading Passport – Summer Reading Adventure 2026! 📚☀️🐬

Research shows that reading during the summer helps students maintain important reading skills, grow vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and build confidence as learners. Even reading just 20 minutes a day can make a BIG difference and help students return to school ready for success in the fall! 🌟

This year’s summer reading program is designed to make reading fun, flexible, and easy for families. Students will complete exciting reading activities throughout the summer by participating in our new Dolphin Reading Passport Challenge from June 1 through July 31, 2026.

Students can enjoy activities such as:

📖 Reading outside
🔦 Reading with a flashlight
📚 Visiting the library
🎧 Listening to an audiobook
🌧️ Reading on a rainy day
🐻 Reading to a stuffed animal
…and so much more!

Students who complete at least 15 activities and return their passport to school by Friday, August 7, 2026 will be entered into a drawing to win a FREE BOOK at our Fall Scholastic Book Fair! 🎉📚

Families are encouraged to make reading part of their summer routines by reading together, visiting the library, and allowing children to choose books that interest them. The goal of the program is to help students discover that reading can happen anywhere and can be both relaxing and exciting! 💙

We also encourage families to check out the summer reading programs offered through the
Aiken County Public Library and the Nancy Carson Library in North Augusta for even more reading fun and activities this summer.

Let’s work together to help our Dolphins continue growing as readers all summer long! 🐬☀️📖
