This past Friday, February 13th, 2026, North Augusta High School's long-awaited baseball and softball stadium was unveiled to the public. For over four decades, the teams had to use North Augusta Parks and Recreation as a temporary field, so the opening of this park marks the start of a new era. Principal Casey Rodgers cut the ribbon to Jacket Park with players from the softball and baseball team by his side. Members of the community were also in attendance to witness the milestone.
"The students are very excited that they get to have this inaugural season here. We have two great teams that are going to be very competitive, and I hope this gives them the extra boost of school pride and school spirit to really go to the next step and next level." - Principal Casey Rodgers
The construction of this new stadium was made possible through Aiken County's one cent sale tax, approved in 2014. The new venue features stadium seating for both the softball and baseball fields. The school colors, black and yellow are seen throughout the stadium.
This was a sentimental moment for head coaches who were former students at the school. Head baseball coach Kevin Lynn stated, "Just to have our own field where we don't have to travel across town to go practice and hope that nobody is on the field before us is really big."
The softball team will host their first scrimmage at the park against Silver Bluff on February 19th. Their first official home game of the season will be on March 11th against Strom Thurmond.
The baseballs teams first game at Jacket Park will be March 14th against Harlem.
