At North Augusta Elementary, we believe that character development is just as important as academics—and every month, we recognize students who exemplify one of the powerful life skills from our Leader in Me program. For April, we proudly celebrate our Habit Heroes for Habit 8: Find Your Voice!
🌟 What is Habit 8: Find Your Voice?
Habit 8 is about discovering your unique strengths, passions, and purpose—and using them to make a positive impact on the world around you. It’s not just about speaking up; it’s about being confident in who you are, understanding how you can contribute, and encouraging others to do the same. This habit teaches students to be leaders of their own lives and to help others shine, too.
Dr. Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (and the inspiration behind Leader in Me), introduced Habit 8 in his follow-up book as the next step for personal leadership. It empowers students to use their talents and voices to influence others in positive, meaningful ways.
🎤 Celebrating Our April Habit Heroes
Our April Habit Heroes were chosen by teachers and staff for consistently demonstrating Habit 8—whether it’s by sharing their ideas confidently in class, standing up for others, showing creativity in projects, or inspiring peers through kindness and action.
These students remind us that every voice matters, and when we use our gifts to lift others up, we all grow stronger together. From writing poems to leading classroom discussions to quietly helping a classmate in need, these Habit Heroes show that leadership comes in many forms.
🎉 Congratulations to all our April Habit Heroes!
We are so proud of you for finding your voice and helping others find theirs, too. Your leadership is helping to shape a positive, inclusive, and empowering culture at North Augusta Elementary.
Let’s all be inspired to discover our own voices—and use them to make a difference! 💛🗣️
