North Augusta Elementary School welcomed a special guest to campus as Mr. Ashley Day, owner of Laurelwood Equipment Company, ( @LaurelwoodEquipmentco. ), took on the role of Honorary Principal for the Day. This unique opportunity allowed Mr. Day to experience firsthand the dedication and enthusiasm of the school’s staff and students.
During his day as honorary principal, Mr. Day, alongside Principal Mr. Badillo, visited classrooms to observe engaging lessons, presided over the February Habit Hero’s Breakfast, toured the Spring Book Fair, and attended important school meetings. Throughout the day, he witnessed the school's vibrant learning environment and the commitment of educators to fostering a supportive community.
Reflecting on his experience, Mr. Day shared his admiration for the school’s atmosphere. “I was overwhelmed by the passion for the job and the sense of community. The positive energy in the building is incredible. Thank you for the experience,” he stated.
What is "Principal for the Day"?
Principal for the Day is an initiative that invites community leaders to step into the role of a school principal for a day. The program provides participants with an inside look at the daily responsibilities of school leadership, from overseeing classroom instruction to engaging with students and faculty. It fosters strong relationships between schools and the local community, offering business and civic leaders a deeper appreciation for the dedication required to support student success.
