North Aiken Elementary

With the possibility of a Winter Storm on everyone’s radar, please know that we are in close collaboration with local Emergency Management Officials in monitoring for impact to our area.

Confidence in the weekend storm’s possible impact to Aiken County has decreased. However, in an abundance of caution, our District and school’s weekend activities scheduled to extend beyond noon this Saturday, January 24, will be rescheduled.

This includes numerous activities, such as Saturday’s acGATEWAY auditions, as well as the MLK Jr. Community Event previously scheduled for Sunday. Individual schools and programs will share details on these and other cancellations along with rescheduled dates and times.

Our emergency management team will continue to work closely with local officials in monitoring the storm over the coming days. As we prepare for the possibility of e-learning on Monday, students will be sent home from school tomorrow with their laptop and remote assignments.

A decision regarding the safety of operations for next week will be made as soon as possible. We recognize that school closure decisions have a tremendous impact on our community, especially parents and guardians. Please know that the safety of our students, families, teachers and staff is always our highest priority, and that every effort will be made to utilize our five designated e-learning days carefully so as to not extend the school year to meet mandated requirements. An update regarding operations for Monday, January 26, will be shared no later than 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 25.

We’re spotting some paws-itively brilliant students and staff! Our students and staff celebrated the 101st Day of School by dressing up like 101 Dalmatians. We’re so proud of how far they’ve come this year—101 days smarter and counting!

As part of our ongoing STARS celebration, we are excited to recognize our First-Year Teacher of the Year Honor Court. These educators were surprised by our District Leadership, with some family members joining in to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

Families of students participating in WIDA ACCESS testing have already been notified.

📄 A letter was sent home with participating students, which also includes a QR code for families to register for an ACCESS Testing Q & A Session happening next Tuesday.

This session will provide helpful information about:
✔️ The purpose of ACCESS testing
✔️ What students can expect
✔️ How results are used to support Multilingual Learners

Today was a great day at North Aiken Elementary! Our students in 5K and 2nd grade enjoyed reading time, we are so grateful for the generous book donations from the Rotary Club! We are so proud of our second graders who did a wonderful job of leading Number Corner in their classroom today! Moments like these show the power of literacy, leadership, and community support. Thank you to everyone who helps our Bears grow every day! 🐻

✨ North Aiken Elementary School Junior Beta Induction Ceremony ✨ Tonight, we proudly welcomed our newest members into the North Aiken Junior Beta Club! This special ceremony was made even more meaningful thanks to the support of Beta Club members from Aiken High School, who assisted throughout the event and partnered with our students as their Beta Buddies. 💛🖤 Over the years, Junior Beta has become nationally recognized for promoting the ideals of Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service. With more than 500,000 members and 8,750 clubs across the nation and beyond, the organization continues to shape student leaders who give back to their schools and communities. Many members go on to accomplish great things, and Beta remains committed to developing the leaders of tomorrow. At North Aiken Elementary, we are honored to continue this tradition of excellence. Students selected for membership are recognized not only for their academic success but also for their dedication to growing as leaders and serving others in meaningful ways. 🎄 North Aiken Elementary Presents: Twelve Days of Christmas! 🎄 Get ready, Cubs! We’re kicking off 12 festive days of holiday fun beginning December 4th! Each day has its own special theme—students and staff are encouraged to join in, get creative, and show their holiday spirit. Participation is encouraged but not required. From Grinch Day to Cozy Christmas Socks, Elf Day, Winter Wonderland, and ending with Cozy PJ Day, there’s something exciting for everyone! We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Aiken County families and wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Please note that there will be no school for students, teachers, and most staff the week of November 24–28.

Additionally, all schools and offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28. We look forward to welcoming everyone back when we reopen on Monday, December 1.

Thank you to all of our amazing students and families for coming out to our Literacy Night last night! We had such a fun time playing games that strengthened our reading and writing skills—and doing it together as families made it even more special!

Our families showed incredible House Pride, with some even representing more than one house! Four families were voted Best Dressed in our first House Spirit Family Competition and took home a themed basket of treats! Everyone left with books, prizes, full tummies, and even warm clothing items thanks to our generous donors.

Thank you for helping make Literacy Night a memorable and meaningful event for our school community!

A huge thank you to the South Carolina Highway Patrol for their generous donations today! They also presented North Aiken Elementary with jackets and other incentives for our scholars. Our students and teachers enjoyed having you in the Den today! Your kindness means so much to our students are truly appreciated!

💛 Thank You, New Spring Church–Aiken! 💛 Today, we were honored to welcome volunteers from New Spring Church–Aiken for their SERVE SATURDAY event, coordinated by Cissy Canales. Their dedication, energy, and willingness to lend a helping hand made a tremendous impact at North Aiken Elementary School. Many of our teachers were also present and received incredible support from these amazing volunteers. Your service and commitment to our school community do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful. 🙌 Thank you for choosing to serve with us today!

North Aiken Elementary held a beautiful Veterans Day program today featuring performances from our chorus, dance club, and student leaders. Through song, dance, and poetry, our students proudly showed their appreciation to the men and women who have served our country. We were also honored to share a touching presentation of friends and family who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. 🇺🇸❤️💙
