We are proud to announce that Drew Stevens, a member of the NAHS Class of 2022, has been named the starting kicker for the Washington Commanders.
After a successful career at NAHS, Stevens went on to play for the Iowa Hawkeyes, where he finished as the program’s all-time leader in made field goals. He later joined the Commanders as an undrafted rookie kicker and spent the past several months competing for the starting position.
NAHS Head Football Coach Bush shared his pride in Stevens’ accomplishment:
“I am extremely proud of Drew for being named the starting kicker for the Washington Commanders. He worked incredibly hard to get where he is today and is a great example of what is possible when you put in the work to make your dreams come true.”
Stevens’ former teachers were also excited to hear the news. They described him as dedicated to both the soccer and football programs at NAHS and said it has been a joy to watch him pursue and achieve his dream.
They also praised his strong attention to detail, active engagement in his work, and the pride he took in everything he did. His hard work and dedication have certainly paid off.
