District Leadership made surprise visits at schools and offices across the District today to celebrate this year’s Stars of Public Education Honor Court. The recognition program and event honoring ACPSD’s brightest stars first began as our annual Teacher of the Year celebration, and has grown to incorporate recognition of our very best New Teachers, Principals, Assistant Principals, Classified Staff, Professionals, and District-Level Administrators. With its origin in mind, we’ll begin our first Stars of Public Education Honor Court announcements with Teacher of the Year.

Winter Break begins at 11:00 today.
Please note that there will be no school for students, teachers, and most staff the week of November 24–28.
Additionally, all schools and offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28. We look forward to welcoming everyone back when we reopen on Monday, December 1.
Today, JES held the annual Fifth Grade Spelling Bee. Eight students competed to win a difficult spelling contest. The competitors were Ayden Leach, Cuyler Lovett, Kennedy Edwards, Ayvah Peterson, Ashlyn Koval, Cannon Palmer, Grayson Fikes, and Mark Kaune. The winner was Grayson Fikes and the runner-up in Ayvah Peterson. They will go on to compete in the region 3 Spelling Bee in December.

PURPLE UP FOR MILITARY FAMILIES | FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14
