Students at Jefferson Elementary School were treated to a visit from none other than Angela May, the co-author of the beloved book series The Islanders. The event was a special occasion for both the students and staff, as they had the rare opportunity to meet the author behind the adventure-filled tales that have captured the imaginations of young readers around the world.

May encouraged students to step outside engage with the world around them. She believes that outdoor exploration can be a gateway to unlocking new creative potential, enhancing writing, drawing, and other artistic endeavors.

After her talk, May invited the students to ask questions. Hands shot up all over the room, as eager young readers wanted to learn more about the book series and Angela's experiences as an author.

At the end of the day, Angela May signed books for the students and took time for personal conversations with a few eager young readers. The joy on the faces of the students was palpable as they chatted with the author.
