That's our Busbee Literacy Night, PTO night, and Fall Blood Drive. Literacy Night and PTO will be from 5-7 pm with pizza being served, and Shepeard will be here for the Blood Drive from 2-7 pm. Make plans to join us!
Just a reminder that Lions Club Vision Screening is at Busbee tomorrow. This is a free service that uses photo-screening technology to detect potential vision problems. If you do not want your child screened, simply send a note in tomorrow with your student or send a message to your child's teacher via Thrillshare.
A few things for this upcoming week:
-Lions Club will be at Busbee for free vision screenings on Tuesday, December 3. They use a photo-screening instrument to take a picture of your child's eyes to screen for risk factors or vision problems. This is a great service and we are thankful for the Lions Club providing it to our students! If you do NOT want your child to be screened, please send in a note with your student or call the school tomorrow at (839) 846-7008 if you have any questions.
-MAP testing will begin this week .Please make sure students are on-time and well-rested!
-Our 12 Days 'Til Winter Break begins Thursday, December 5 with Red and Green Day! Go ahead and save the image on this post so you'll have all of the days easily accessible!

This year we are represented by Elynn and Ethan Ewing who are 3rd graders here at Busbee. This is a great opportunity for our students to show leadership skills, meet other students in the district, and share their ideas with district leaders! 🐾💙💚
Next up for our #ThankfulAtBusbee is our sponsors of the Golden Harvest Spooky to Be Hungry barrel decorating competition!
Each year we like to have a little fun for the adults to see which team can decorate the best barrels. This year, 2nd grade was a hands-down winner with their Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch barrels. They won lunch, provided by Jordan Blackwell, owner of JH Photography and Ben Blackwell, owner of Compton's Construction!
We are so thankful for the 2nd grade team's hard work and our sponsors!
We are also #ThankfulAtBusbee for our Principal, Mr. Matthews. Mr. Matthews makes us laugh everyday and always has a positive outlook for us to consider. We are so blessed to have him at Busbee 🐾💙
We are also #ThankfulAtBusbee for our Teaching and Learning Committee who sponsored a writing competition this month. The prompt asked students to write about the greatest gift they ever received. This week they provided our soup/grilled cheese lunch and all the fixings. They also worked with Ms. Jackie Busbee to sponsor the pies. 🥧🍴
Last week, they sponsored and worked the ice cream party for all of our students as a reward for meeting our goal for the Spooky to Be Hungry Food Drive 🍦🥫
