Parents/Guardians/Students: Over the next week, we'll be reviewing the Student Code of Conduct during the school day. Please take a few minutes at home to become familiar with the the rules for your school, as well as the consequences that could result for students who do not follow them. The Code of Conduct is available by scanning the QR code or visiting www.acpsd.net/CodeOfConduct. We are looking forward to a wonderful year, and appreciate your support in following these conduct guidelines that are aimed to ensure we're creating an environment in which effective teaching and learning can occur and that safeguards are in place for the safety of all students, staff and families.

Appropriate Attire:
1. Dresses (and splits in dresses), skirts (and splits in skirts), skorts, and shorts must be no more than five inches above the knee when standing (leggings, including sheer material, or tights do not substitute for length.
2. Clothing must cover undergarments.
3. Leggings/tights/thermal tights may only be worn under dresses, shirts, shorts, or skirts of appropriate length, no more than five inches above the knee. Leggings or tights may also be worn under jeans that have holes to cover skin. Pants, shorts, and skirts must be worn at the waist. Pants/shorts/skirts should not be so tight to show undergarments.
4. Shirts and tops with sleeves at least three inches wide at the shoulder.
5. Religious head coverings.
6. Appropriate undergarments must be worn.
Inappropriate Attire:
1. Hats. hoods on clothing or jackets, athletic headbands, and sunglasses (ANY VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN CONFISCATION OF THE ITEMS).
2. Head coverings such as headbands, bandanas, and bonnets.
3. Tube tops, halter tops, tops with string straps, and plunging necklines that expose cleavage.
4. Bare midriffs and backs.
5. See-through garments or sheer garments.
6. Shoes with wheels or cleats.
7. Bedroom shoes/house slippers, lounge wear, pajamas/sleepwear, and blankets.
8. Wallet/pocket chains.
9. "Sagging" pants - sagging is identified as pants that are not worn at the wait, underwear/shorts should not be showing. Exposed undergarments may be considered refusal to obey and lead to further disciplinary action.
10. Clothing that promotes tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs.
11. Clothing that promotes guns, violence, gangs, sex, or disrespect to others.
12. Rips, tears, holes and worn places in clothing must be no more than five inches above the knee unless tights are worn under them covering the skin (excludes pants that have a sewn-on patch outside or inside the pants leg). No undergarments should be showing.
13. Accessories/jewelry with spikes or items that can be used as weapons.
14. Flip flops (refrain from wearing because of safety concerns).

Pertussis (Whooping Cough) immunization is required for all 7th Grade students!
