Aiken County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Corey Murphy shakes hands with Rotary Augusta Club member.

AIKEN — A gas station chain that has gained popularity in the CSRA in recent years just donated $60K to area school districts as a new location prepares to open on the northwest corner of Whiskey Road and Chukker Creek Road.

Parker’s Kitchen founder and Executive Chairman Greg Parker said that philanthropy has always been a central component of the company’s mission. Specifically, Parker’s focuses are on healthcare, education, heroes and hunger.

He said he believes that supporting local education is especially important and contributes to the betterment of communities in a larger way. “We think by giving back, then that creates this compounding effect because it helps all the communities that surround us, and, you know, it lowers crime, increases economic opportunity, better quality of life. All those things come with an education,” he said.
