The Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Latrece Quattlebaum as the new Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning.
“Dr. Quattlebaum is an exceptional educator whose experience spans every level of learning, brining not only deep content knowledge and expertise, but also the energy, passion and instructional insight needed to empower others,” Dr. Amy Edwards, Chief Officer of Instruction stated. “By meeting teachers where they are, inspiring growth, and providing meaningful support, she will strive to help them become the very best version of themselves – for the benefit of every student we serve.”
Quattlebaum most recently served as the Continuous Improvement Coordinator for ACPSD, working in Federal Programs and alongside faculty and staff to foster effective collaboration and rigorous academic standards.
“I am truly honored to serve our secondary schools in this new role and excited to partner with our educators, students, families, and community,” Quattlebaum shared. “Together, we will continue building a culture of high expectations, meaningful learning, and continuous growth that empowers every student to reach their fullest potential.”
Quattlebaum has decades of classroom and specialized academic coaching experience in ELA, STEM and literacy initiatives, and holds several certifications including a Cognitive Coaching Certified Educator, a SC Teaching Standards 4.0 Certified Evaluator and CERRA Certified Mentor.
Quattlebaum, a South Carolina native and graduate of Aiken County Public Schools, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Education from the University of South Carolina - Columbia, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Literacy from Lesley University and a Doctorate of Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Walden University.

She has been an asset to our department and has helped build a firm foundation for continuous improvement and growth,” Brian Gibbons, Director of Federal Programs said. “She is an excellent choice for the Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact she will be able to make in Aiken County Public Schools through her service in this new role.”
