Paige Day is named the new Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools for Aiken County Public Schools.

The Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paige Day as the Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools. A longtime champion of education, excellence and community engagement, Day brings over two decades of classroom and leadership experience to the role.

Day most recently served as the Principal of Highland Springs Middle School, which she led since its opening during the 2023-2024 school year.

“My connection to the middle level is both personal and professional. I love the unique energy of middle school and the critical role it plays in a student’s development,” Day shared. “I’ve had the privilege of mentoring and developing other principals, and that experience has reinforced my belief that when we invest in leaders—through relationships, collaboration, and intentional support—we ultimately improve outcomes for every student.”

Day is a data-driven leader who focuses on collaboration. At Highland Springs, she helped increase ELA scores from 57.6% at meet and exceeds in 2024 to 63.7% in 2025. Under her tenure, she also helped facilitate improvement on the overall climate rating to Excellent, as well as increasing the overall school rating from Average to Good.

Prior to her tenure at Highland Springs, Day served as principal at Paul Knox Middle School from 2019-2023, bringing the school to an “Excellent” rating. She also brings quality leadership experience from her time at North Augusta High School as the Assistant Principal of Instruction, as well as Director of NAHS' AP Academy and the first director of its Freshman Academy.

She started her career as an English teacher at North Augusta High School and holds degrees from College of Charleston and Augusta State University.

“I’m incredibly honored to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools. Middle school leadership has been where I’ve grown the most as an educator, and I’m excited to now support principals across our district in the same way I’ve been supported and challenged throughout my career,” Day shared. “I’ve spent my career building, leading, and learning alongside others. What I’ve come to know for sure is this: excellence comes from intentional systems, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to doing what’s best for kids.

“Paige is going to do an exceptional job as our new Assistant Superintendent of Middle Schools,” Dr. Phyllis Gamble, Chief Officer of Administration and Human Resources said. Gamble previously led middle schools as its Assistant Superintendent prior to her promotion as Chief Officer. “Paige is a thoughtful leader with a proven track record at the school level," Gamble continued. "I am looking forward to supporting her and her vision for public education as she transitions in this new role for Aiken County Public Schools.”

Day will transition into her new role in July as she begins preparations for the 2026-2027 school year.
