The Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Carla Dupert as Principal of Leavelle McCampbell Middle School. A veteran educator and accomplished instructional leader, Dupert brings nearly two decades of experience within the District and a strong record of advancing student achievement, supporting teacher development, and fostering meaningful community partnerships.
Dupert most recently served as the District’s Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning, providing leadership for middle and high school instructional programs and overseeing districtwide professional learning initiatives. Prior to her district-level role, she served as Principal of Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School from 2022 to 2025 and as Assistant Principal and PLC Lead Administrator at Kennedy Middle School from 2019 to 2022.
“Carla has a proven track record of advancing instructional excellence and building the kind of strong, collaborative school cultures that allow both educators and students to thrive,” said Chief Officer of Instruction Dr. Amy Edwards. “Her experience, leadership, and commitment to student success make her exceptionally well-suited to lead Leavelle McCampbell Middle School.”
Throughout her career with ACPSD, Dupert has worked to strengthen instructional practices, expand student support systems, and build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Her leadership has contributed to measurable gains in student outcomes, enhanced classroom instruction through targeted coaching and professional development, and cultivated school environments where students feel connected, supported, and engaged.
“I’m excited to return to school leadership,” Dupert said. “It is a privilege to serve students, families, and educators in a setting where meaningful relationships and high expectations can make a lasting difference in the lives of children.”
Dupert said she was drawn to Leavelle McCampbell Middle School’s strong sense of community and commitment to student success.
“I am incredibly energized by the opportunity to collaborate with the students, families, and staff of the Graniteville community,” she said. “I look forward to building on the school’s many strengths and creating even more opportunities for students to thrive. Together, we can ensure every learner feels valued, challenged, and supported.”
Dupert holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University and both a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Dupert will transition into her new role over the coming weeks and begin preparations for the 2026-27 school year.
In a recent message to the school community, Dupert expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead Leavelle McCampbell Middle School. “Our students deserve the very best,” she said. “I look forward to working alongside our staff, families, and community to make this an exceptional school year.”
