Dr. Palladino gets recognized in the South Carolina State House gallery.

AIKEN — A local teacher is being recognized statewide after more than a decade working in South Carolina classrooms.

Aiken teacher Dr. Christie Palladino has been named the 2027 South Carolina Teacher of the Year after making it to the finalist round in March.

Palladino received the state’s top education honor during the South Carolina Department of Education’s annual Gala in the Garden at the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia on April 23.
