AIKEN, S.C. (WFXG) - It’s another exciting week of high school football, but Varsity Drive is all about showing you the behind-the-scenes action you don’t get to see under the Friday night lights. Each week, we highlight one school from South Carolina and one from Georgia — and today, we’re taking you inside South Aiken High School.
While the football team battles it out on the field, the band is working just as hard to bring the energy to the stands. Leading the way is Austin Gantt, Director of Bands at South Aiken. For the past seven years, Gantt has guided both the marching and concert bands, and he says the most rewarding part of his job is watching students grow through the years.
