Wednesday Aiken Scholars Academy (ASA) was among the first six schools in the state to receive the designation of a South Carolina Blue Ribbon School - one of the highest honors a school can receive! What first started as the National Blue Ribbon Schools program by the U.S. Department of Education more than forty years ago, this recognition is now being carried on by the State of South Carolina to recognize schools for overall academic achievement and commitment to excellence.
“We created a community and a culture amongst our stakeholders with a focus on growth and grounded in trust,” ASA Principal Martha Messick shared. “Aiken Scholars Academy is a place where people thrive. We intentionally think about how we make people feel and are focused on enhancing the lives of our students, their parents, faculty, staff, and the greater community."
Aiken Scholars is U.S. News and World Report’s number one rated high school in the state and CSRA, and is ranked 10th among the nation’s best. With Wednesday’s announcement, ASA also joins this elite group of dynamic schools in South Carolina being recognized for creating a learning environment where students thrive academically and personally. Congratulations to the students, staff, and families who made this success possible!
