Aiken County Public School District is proud to announce the appointment of David Harris as Principal of the Aiken County Career and Technology Center (ACCTC). Harris, an accomplished educator and administrator with more than 17 years of experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and school leadership, brings both professional expertise and a deep personal connection to Aiken County and its students.
A proud graduate of Aiken County Public Schools, Harris has built his career advocating for workforce readiness and student success. He most recently served as Assistant Principal at North Augusta High School, where he was named the District’s 2025-26 Assistant Principal of the Year.
“Returning to Career and Technical Education was an opportunity I felt called to,” Harris shared. “Having spent 13 years as a CTE teacher, I saw firsthand the impact that our curriculum and care can have on a student’s personal and professional trajectory. I am honored to support a program and institution that has provided so much to Aiken County students for over 50 years.”
Harris began his career in education after more than a decade in private management and technology. As a CTE educator at North Augusta High School, he taught courses ranging from AP Computer Science to Marketing and Digital Multimedia, while serving as a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor and contributing to statewide curriculum and textbook committees. His experiences in the classroom and as an administrator have shaped his student-centered leadership approach and strong commitment to equity and access for all learners.
As Principal, Harris will lead ACCTC during a pivotal moment in its history. The Center will soon transition to a new state-of-the-art facility located on the campus of Aiken Technical College, a move expected to expand access and programming for students across the district. “Supporting students and staff and advocating for Career and Technical Education is truly a calling,” Harris said. “I’m excited to see how our programs will grow and innovate to impact an even wider range of students.”
Harris’ personal ties to ACCTC run deep. His brother is a program completer, and his sister is currently enrolled in the Health Science program. “Serving the community which poured into me has been the highlight of my professional career,” he added. “I look forward to strengthening partnerships with local businesses, families, and alumni to elevate the amazing work already happening at ACCTC.”
The district also proudly recognizes Mr. Kenneth Lott, who served as ACCTC Director from 2018–2025 and has now been appointed Executive Director of Career and Technical Education for Aiken County Public Schools. In this districtwide role, Lott will continue building innovative programs that prepare students for high-demand careers, expand industry partnerships, and lead the transition into the new ACCTC facility.
“My vision for Career and Technical Education in Aiken County is to continue expanding opportunities that prepare students for postsecondary success and lifelong learning,” Lott said. “With David Harris leading day-to-day operations at ACCTC, I’m confident the Center will thrive while I focus on districtwide CTE growth and partnerships.”
Harris lives in North Augusta with his wife, a dedicated nurse of more than 20 years, and their two daughters. Outside of education, he enjoys connecting with the community and supporting youth development initiatives throughout the region.
