AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT NAMES DANIEL OSBORNE AS NEW PRINCIPAL OF AIKEN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
Aiken County Public School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Daniel Osborne as the new Principal of Aiken Intermediate School. With more than 25 years of experience in education, school leadership, and coaching, Mr. Osborne brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a deep-rooted commitment to student success to his new role.
“This role means a great deal to me personally,” Osborne shared. “Sixth grade is such a pivotal year in a child’s development. Being entrusted to lead a school that focuses entirely on this transitional year is both an honor and a responsibility I take to heart.”
Osborne’s career in Aiken County Public Schools began as an elementary school physical education teacher at Redcliffe, where he served from 1999 to 2021. During his more than two decades at Redcliffe, Osborne’s impact on students extended beyond the school through years of coaching football and baseball. He was the Defensive Line Coach for Silver Bluff High School’s state championship winning team in 2000, as well as Kennedy Middle School’s Aiken County Football Championship winners in 2008, 2013, and 2017. He was also the Head Baseball Coach at Silver Bluff, 2001-2004, and was named Coach of the Year by the Aiken Standard in 2002. He later served as Assistant Principal at North Aiken Elementary, 2021-2024, and most recently, North Augusta Middle School, where he helped lead daily school operations, student support, and scheduling. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University.
Having worked with students transitioning from elementary and into middle school, Osborne understands the developmental shifts students go through at that age. This role offers a unique opportunity for Osborne to impact students in a transformative year.
“Sixth grade is when students begin discovering who they are and where they want to go,” he shared. I’m excited to build strong partnerships with families and create an environment where everyone feels connected and invested in our shared success.”
Osborne transitioned to his role as AIS Principal on July 1, 2025, and is excited to partner with families, listen to their voices, and create a school environment where everyone feels connected and invested in our shared success. “Together, we can make sixth grade a powerful launchpad for lifelong learning and personal growth.”
