PAUL KNOX MIDDLE SCHOOL WELCOMES NEW PRINCIPAL WITH DEEP COMMUNITY TIES AND A VISION FOR EXCELLENCE

Mr. John Bush, a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong commitment to student achievement, welcomed Paul Knox Middle School (PKMS) Patriots back to school on July 21 as their new principal for the 2025-26 school year.

The North Augusta native and former PKMS student, brings over 15 years of educational experience to the role, including nearly a decade in school administration and a strong foundation in classroom instruction and coaching.

Bush served most recently as Principal of Harlem Middle School in Georgia and has previously worked at schools in Aiken County, including Paul Knox, where he served as Lead Teacher and a Social Studies/STEM instructor.

“It is an incredible honor to have this opportunity to serve the community of North Augusta,” he shared. “I look forward to helping our students grow into positive members of our community.”

He is a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina Aiken, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He holds advanced degrees in educational leadership, including a Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Augusta State University (2010), as well as an Educational Specialist degree from Liberty University (2014). He gained certification in Administration in 2016 from the University of South Carolina, as well as Tier II Administration Certification from Augusta University in 2023.

Outside of his work as an educational leader, Bush is a proud father to two daughters, and he enjoys watching the Atlanta Braves, college football, and spending time outdoors—often at local parks and along the North Augusta Greenway.

“As a former student of Paul Knox, I want to help the school move into its next phase of excellence. Paul Knox has a legacy of success in academics, athletics, and fine arts. I look forward to ushering in a new generation of Patriot pride.”
