Aiken County Public School District proudly announces the appointment of Tyreesha C. Trammell as the new Director of Transportation. Trammell brings over two decades of experience in transportation and logistics, with more than 15 years in leadership and human resources, and a deep-rooted passion for student safety and operational excellence.

Trammell’s journey in school transportation began in 2002 as a substitute bus driver in Cobb County School District in Marietta, Georgia. The position aligned her schedule to her young children’s needs and laid the foundation for an impressive career. Most recently, she served as Data Reporting Specialist for Columbia County School District in Georgia, where she led transportation technology initiatives, GPS monitoring, and district mapping for enhanced compliance and efficiency of the nearby district’s Transportation Service.

She rose through several leadership roles in Cobb County School District. The progression from substitute driver to full-time driver, Transportation Field Coordinator, and Area Supervisor, led to her deep understanding of transportation operations.

“Working as a driver, router, trainer, office assistant, technology specialist, field coordinator, and transportation supervisor over the years has prepared me to be an effective leader, one who is fair and consistent in understanding the needs of our overall operations,” she said. “This includes assessing the needs of our students, transportation staff, school administrators, and stakeholders.”

Trammell earned a Business Management credential from Western International University in 2007 and a bachelor’s degree in Clerical Business Administration and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the United Institute of Language and Clerical Studies in 2023.

Personally, and professionally, this new role represents a significant milestone for Trammell. “It allows me to achieve one of my ultimate goals, leadership in the school transportation industry,” she said. “Professionally, it gives me the opportunity to build a strong foundation throughout the department, develop a clear vision, and cultivate a culture of excellence.”
