Three Mustangs Sign to Play at College Level

Three more members of the Midland Valley football team took the next step toward their future Monday morning.

Defensive backs Raekwon Jackson and Jacobi Sapp signed to join the football program at the The Apprentice School, and receiver Will Sheehan signed with Catawba College.

"It's a huge day of accomplishments for these guys. I'm very proud of them," Midland Valley head coach Andrew Jenkins said. "I'm going to miss all of them in different ways, but mostly their leadership. They have great athletic ability and make plays and all those good things, but they're great leaders and great young men."

All three played multiple positions throughout the season. Sapp led the team in receiving yards with 545. He also played at defensive back. Jackson was also a leader in the defensive backfield in addition to contributing on special teams

Sapp and Jackson have played together since they were little kids and will get a chance to play side-by-side for four more years.

Sheehan scored 10 touchdowns – four receiving, four rushing and two passing. Sheehan's primary position was receiver, which is where he will play in college.
